Description

Zero-Clearance Insert Compatible with Bosch 12" Sliding Miter Saw model GCM12SD. It helps to reduce tear-out and eliminates thin cut-offs from being pulled under the factory insert. Made from medium density MDF, painted side red. Set screws are not included. The inserts do not have blade cutouts so you can cut the desired width for your preferred blade after installation.

Product: fits perfectly, no complaints, etc. Shipment: they sent to me an extra piece, very slightly damaged with a HAND-WRITTEN NOTE (!!), explaining that they would not sell the damaged piece but they thought I might be able to use it, if I choose to. Took me a minute to even find where this “damage” was [slight dent on the MDF, probably they dropped it]. Again, this is a spare piece they included at no cost. It’s nice to be reminded that there’s a human on the other side who’s happy that I bought this piece of CNCed mdf so they can feed their kids or get another beer, or both. Thank you!     • Perfect fit for a perfect cut

    • Not a perfect fit
Doesn’t fit flush. They sit slightly below the saw deck, leaving a slight gap under the material. As a result, they don’t fully support the material at the cut leaving them ineffective for a true zero clearance purpose. It’ll help keep small bits from falling into the carriage, but that’s about it.

Perfect accessory for my Bosch Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Easy to install and high visibility to indicate your cut line since this saw doesn’t have a laser.

    • Sits a little low
I have one of the older Bosch miter saws. You have to grind the corners off so it will drop in. It didn’t sit flush with the top. It was close to a 1/16” low. I shimmed it with some #10 washers. Good to go.

This insert fit quite snug, which is great. The holes to attach lined up perfectly (there are 4 additional holes I didn't use or need, probably for older saws). I don't think it could have been any better. I am not sure what I will use the other 2 inserts for quite yet, but I know I'm super glad I have them. Since the saw unfortunately does not come with a laser line, and all aftermarket lasers are poor at best for this saw, this will be a fantastic way to align my cuts and get an even more accurate cut time and time again. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great product. I had to slightly sand the corners to fit. It has a tight fit and your screws are not needed to hold it in place, but I am using the screws for extra insurance. I plan to fill the extra holes with a 3/8" dowel. A product improvement would be for the manufacturer to include 4 plugs with the kit ... show more
