I don't know other people's cases, but it works for me. My bathtub looks like a brand new now. I've tried some open-self products for my bathtub, and nothing worked out. I was also skeptical about this product, but this cleaner worked after I used it!! I used this product for my bathtub that covered water stains and black flakes. When I used this cleaner coming out with heavy foaming, I left the foaming to soak the bathtub for 5 minutes. After that, I used the magic sponge - "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser" to scrub. Two products work together very well. Although I needed to scrub harder for some heavy stains, this cleaner did help a lot. ... show more

i needed calcium lime and rust remover and have used CLR in the past and THOUGHT that was what i was buying. This is just a regular cleaner and i would not have spent the money for just a regular cleaner

UPDATE: two months later, I'm just as impressed. So-called "heavy-duty" cleaning products evoke my skepticism, esp since there are so many on the market. This stuff is the real thing. And, compared to the well known "Scrubbing Bubbles" brand I had planned to buy, this has several advantages. It doesn't smell or give off fumes; you can use a smaller amount; and the packaging seems more recyclable. Zomigod! Unbelievably powerful, no obvious fumes or smell, removed stains thought permanent for many years. I just got it and on a whim decided to try it on my kitchen floor. The floor surface is some kind of plastic-type material, at least 20 years old - probably more like 40. It's a light, sort of mottled / stippled gray color, the kind that doesn't show dirt. But it's permanently stained in a few spots, and discolored over large areas. ;tldr Now my floor is polka-dotted (clean spots in the brownish perma-dirt). Cleaning ground-in dirt from an aged, battered, and abraded surface - wow! Next I'll see how it does on my 124-year-old bathroom fixtures. (The toilet, FYI, is still mint. The manufacturer's logo is crisp and clear. But the porcelain of the sink and tub is deeply abraded.) ... show more

I purchased this to use on my tub and surrounding white tile that was getting some soap scum build up as well as just dark and dirty. It sprays almost like a foam and you feel like you're using a lot to make sure everything is covered, but it is worth it! I HATE scrubbing and cleaning of any kind (hence the build up and dirty look), so when this arrived I sprayed it and covered the entire shower and tub and let it sit overnight. I wasn't expecting to walk away and return to a sparkling white bathroom, but the next morning when I jumped in the shower I swear the scum and dirt was washing away just with the pressure of the shower! I was amazed. I grabbed a tub brush to clean while I showered. I literally used my foot to move the scrubber around and that was all was needed to make my tub sparkle like new! I'm kicking myself for not taking before and after photo I was THAT impressed! Will definitely purchase again...and even spray this in between a shower or two just for maintenance. ... show more

I was impressed with how well this worked. Prior to using this product, I worked with abrasive, thick, bleach-based products with green scrub pads to remove soap sum and mold from showers. It has always been a laborious project. Spray this on, and apply evenly; let it sit for a bit, then scrub three or four times with a green scrub pad and the gunk is gone. I sprayed it on my enclosed shower, both the glass doors and the acrylic surround. I left it on for a bit, scrubbed it, and it was as if I had used water, except the smell, which is horrendous. It did not remove the hardwater stains from my shower doors and it did not remove the dark muckiness from my shower floor. ... show more
