Actually meant for sewing the finer materials, like say Lingerie or silks .... but I'm so used to working with these, that I use them for nearly everything - except thick(er) materials, that would cause them to bend. The pins work as expected, but the container is very difficult to open. It is not good to have pins flying everywhere when the container has to be forced open. So now, I have to put ALL the pins in a pin cushion until I can get better containers. The pins are long, as described. That's the good part. However, the thinness is not consistent. Several are thicker than advertised, and not suitable for delicate fabrics. I have these I bought 10+ years ago. My supply was getting low so I restocked with 3 packages. I am very disappointed. The old ones were sharp! When I first used them I kept stabbing my fingers. Part of that was they went through fabric like a hot knife through butter. These feel like the tip is rounded and it takes a lot of effort to put them through cloth.
