I run a sand toy community project, so I buy a lot of sand toys. I bought the 13 and 18 piece sets. Overall, both are solid. The pieces are good size, age appropriate. The "backpack" is very lightweight and perfect for the beach. Any child that can walk would be able to put this on. And... it's low cost - lower than other options I've gotten. I would buy this again. I prefer the 13 piece set. The bucket in the 13 is bigger than the 18. There's a longish shovel in the 18 that I'm not sure will hold up if someone holds it on the end and digs deep. ... show more

Like others, I received a backpack that had the straps frayed and not attached. I received a replacement that had the straps intact, but look like they will fray any minute. The items inside the backpack are good and seem sturdy. If you are getting this because of the backpack feature, I would not recommend it. My toddler loves playing with these outside. He just needs a shovel now! They are decent quality for the price and come in a cute carry bag that a small child can carry on their own. Has the essentials without being too much. We have the click n play balls for his ball pit as well and love them.
