I run a sand toy community project, so I buy a lot of sand toys. I bought the 13 and 18 piece sets. Overall, both are solid. The pieces are good size, age appropriate. The "backpack" is very lightweight and perfect for the beach. Any child that can walk would be able to put this on. And... it's low cost - lower than other options I've gotten. I would buy this again. I prefer the 13 piece set. The bucket in the 13 is bigger than the 18. There's a longish shovel in the 18 that I'm not sure will hold up if someone holds it on the end and digs deep. ... show more

Good quality for kids toys until my grandson misslicked with the big rake and caught my arm. Once the bleeding stopped and I could breathe again I remembered how good they were. :) True story. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Perfect for a beach day. All you need for a nice trip to the beach. Quality is good for such light weight toys. They do fit back in the little beach bag they come in, but you have to get them in there just right. All in all, my 1 year old loves them.

Off we went to the ocean, and why not? Grandmom ordered these hoping to add a little extra fun to the day trip. Holy cow! The kiddos loved sifting and shoveling and molding! Great set...(even the little rake was a hit!) The little net bag it comes in is not very durable... I purchased a mesh laundry bag (also from Amazon) and put ALL of their sand toys in there. Now that's a huge help and it's so easy to "slosh" through the waves to rinse off before bringing an acre of sand home in the car. ... show more

Like others, I received a backpack that had the straps frayed and not attached. I received a replacement that had the straps intact, but look like they will fray any minute. The items inside the backpack are good and seem sturdy. If you are getting this because of the backpack feature, I would not recommend it.
