    • Good beginner tools for the price
If you are a beginner I would recommend starting with these. They are good enough beginner tools that you can use if you aren't sure pottery is for you. They are cheap and unless you are supper rough with them, they should last you long enough to figure out if you are going to stick with it. Please note, these are not of the best quality but they get the job done. One of the metal pieces on my tools was loose but that was easily fixed with super glue. ... show more

    • Way Better Than Plastic Ones
I’m a beginner clay crafter. I say that because I can only review these compared with what I have used to date. These are so much better than plastic ones that come with most sets. This included some tools I hadn’t tried before and had to look up how to use them. Makes me even happier with this set because it seems to include just about every tool I need for sculpting different shapes. Wood handles are smooth and comfortable to hold. This is a nice set of tools. There's a good variety included. They're a good weight, comfortable to hold and use, and they're decently made. The quality is comparable to similar sets I've had before. They're not the best quality out there, but they're a great value for the price and work well.

    • I had trouble scupting with them.
I have watched videos online where artists use similar tools to sculpt polymer clay, basically cutting into it to show layers of other color clay that are underneath the top layer.. I tried the same technique with these and the ones I tried using were not sharp enough to cut into the clay. The just mashed it around. The one that is a loop of metal worked fairly well to scoop out clay. The other “sharp” points didn’t work very well. I was not overly impressed with these tools. ... show more

    • Decent enough basic set
For beginners just starting out this set is good enough to get you started. For professionals- well I won’t need to go on will I? The old saying that you get what you pay for again holds true. Now don’t get me wrong here, there’s nothing overly wrong with this set. They are just basic quality starter tools, not meant to last or be a professionals go to set is all I’m saying. Thin wooden handles besides having the penchant to become slippery do not have that feel to them that a higher grade tool offers. The implements themselves are just attached by having their stubby ends pressed into the ends of the wooden rods, they will work loose in my opinion. Like I said, not really bad tools, but by no means good tools. ... show more

I have used them while decorating cookies for sculpting both the raw dough and the icing and was delighted with their performance. I have plans to try them for sculpting apples for Halloween and making spooky faces that will be dehydrated to look like shrunken heads. The tools are well made and easy to use. They have stainless steel tips in a great variety of designs and the wood handles are comfortable to hold. They are all a moderate length that makes them easy to control (6.3” to 7.9”). The tips are attached securely and seem strong enough to carve a range of materials without bending. I recommend this set for anyone who enjoys sculpting and is looking for a variety of tools at a low price. ... show more

    • Good quality
These are good sculpting tools. The handles are raw but sanded fairly smooth so you could oil or stain them if you like. I would recommend that if you work with wet clay so the wood doesn't split after absorbing water over time. I appreciate that the tool ends are sharp enough to make a clean line but not sharp enough to cut yourself, and that the heads are very firmly glued into the handle. Super annoying to get tools like this and have all the carving nibs fall off straight away, so no issues there. Good variety of shapes and styles, especially for the price. ... show more
