We have a feral cat that arrives on my back porch twice a day for 4 or 5 months now for a hardy meal. When he first came to us he was skinny and in hunger pain. So I started feeding him the good stuff. I also dewormed him with medicine mixed with his food. Twice, 12 days apart as instructed. He is now a beautiful healthy looking feral cat. With winter coming, I built him an insulated outdoor cat house and bought this outdoor pet heating pad to put on the inside bottom of it. He loves it. He stays in it almost all night. (I have a camera aimed at my back porch so I can see his every move). When I show up to feed him in the morning (by coming out my back door), he runs out of the box and sits about 6 feet away from me while I put his food down. When I turn to go in the house, he runs over to his food and enjoys his meal. After that he goes back into his warm box for a while before heading out to wherever he goes during the day. I put this marker in my rabbit hutch. Put a pillowcase on it to protect the fabric, put between two rag rugs and it made a great warm spot. It wasn’t hot at all, cord Long enough, didn’t notice change in electric bill.

    • It gets our stray cats through the Montana winters
We use this in the insulated "dog" house we have for stray cats and it keeps them comfortable throughout the winter. This is the second one I've purchased because our first one was stolen. Don't hesitate to buy!

Some buyer are complaining about not warm enough, dog has to seat on a pad for a while. Just about right Temperature, not too hot or cold.

I was so excited to get this. However after I plugged it in and it barely felt luke warm not so excited. I ended up having to take the cover off to feel any heat. It stopped working after 24 hours. Then it randomly worked for about 6 hrs but now is back to no heat. Total waste of money.

    • Beautiful quality but…
The cover on this heating pad feels great. It is soft and durable. It is also easy to clean up with spot cleaning. The cord itself seems durable. The downside on this is, most of my cats won’t even get near it. I’m not sure if it’s emitting a sound that they can hear and I can’t or what is going on with it. I had kittens that I needed to keep warm during the winter and even the mom would move them. As soon as they were old enough, they would not sleep on this mat. They would scoot themselves off of it. We thought maybe it was getting too hot for them so we tested it ourselves. Nope. Not even warm enough. It does not get very warm at all. For me, I would prefer it to warm up more. For my older cats, they will lay on it for a few minutes and then will move off of it. They all LOVE my heated blanket. I’ve covered this mat with other blankets to see if they just didn’t like the soft cover feel or something, but that made no difference. The only thing I can come up with is that it is emitting a sound that they can hear and I can’t. Maybe it is best suited for dogs. I don’t know. I just know my cats (and I have several!) do not like it. ... show more

Slightly larger than I would have liked but I was able to fit it in the shelter easily. Fuzz walked right in and was warm during the evenings where it was in the upper 20's. Even though she managed the last 2 winters without extra heat, I feel better for the extra warmth. Cord is robust and looks like it will handle the weather well.
