I have wide feet but also tall feet and suffer from edema so getting the top of my foot into most flip flops or closed shoes can sometimes be a challenge. I love these because they are really comfortable (a little cushioned bounce in your step) and the fabric is far enough down the foot to allow for a thick foot to fit. The fabric does have some stretch and compared to those plastic or rubbery materials, these feel really nice on my feet above and below.
