This works well to evenly spread mineral oil on the cutting boards I make. I use a premium oil, and none is wasted. I used to use paper towels and a lot of the oil soaked into it and would end up being thrown away. My only complaint is the rough foam of the applicator can crumble and leave behind back bits of foam. It is a solid product and very comfortable to use.

I like how this tool fits snugly in my hand so I can efficiently oil and wax my 14' long butcherblock counter and all my cutting boards and wooden spoons in under 10 mins. The sponge is more stiff and rigid which means it doesn't shed chunks as it runs over uneven surfaces, it glides over them! The wooden handle gives a firm grip which is helpful once my hands get oily. No more wasteful paper towels or shredded kitchen sponges. It can be used to scour cutting boards with special soap, pre oiling too.

I had just finished the cutting board in these pictures prior to receiving this tool from Clark's. First picture shows the results after the first mineral oil pour. Overall this tool made the process of spreading the oil evenly over the board pretty easy and it's certainly less messy than doing it with a shop towel or something similar. Second picture shows the results after the board had been oiled 3 times over the course of 3 days and had a coat of wax applied (again using the Clark's tool). It's super easy to clean with some standard Dawn dish soap and water. I'm just a hobbyist but am making a bunch of different cutting boards for friends and family as Christmas gifts and I look forward to using this tool more on them.

I got this item because I got tired of using paper towels to apply oil to the counter top that I have. Before I loathed doing that because of how wasteful and the amount of energy it took. Now it is a breeze. I use very little paper towels to clean off the excess oil, and it helps to apply an even application of oil to the butcher block counter top I have.

Using a rag to apply oil was messy so I used it as excuse to avoid the job. Now I can oil two table tops and some very large wood bowls in short order without needed 10 minutes to clean up my hands, the rags, etc. Big help.

I installed butcher block counters in my kitchen. I prepared the counters myself using Clark's Cutting Board Conditioner and Oil. I put 6 coats on the bottom and 10 on the top and sides. I use their Soap to keep them clean and reapply either the Conditioner or the Oil depending on my mood. The wood resists stains and spills just bead up. The wood is not oily or greasy yet have a beautiful finish. The products are easy to use. I used rags to finish the butcher block originally but use the applicator now. I wish I had known about them originally. I use one for the soap and one for the oil and conditioner.

The media could not be loaded. We are building new desks for the office and purchased some live edge countertops to use as the desk tops. I purchased two of Clark's Oil & Wax Large Block Applicators. We used one for oil and the other one for wax. Worked perfect for both applications and we had seven desks to do. Applicators are still in great condition and will work for future applications as well.
