  • Fantastic Camping Accessory
Style: Brown/Tan Roof - w/ Wind Panel Flaps
We camp with a teardrop trailer. Our Clam screen tent is our "outdoor living space." This is our second Clam tent - we also own the larger six-sided one. We recently purchased this five-sided one for its smaller footprint and smaller interior area, which is easier to heat. We also own the optional side panels, which attach fairly quickly and have proven fantastic for keeping rain, wind and cold out of the tent. In cool and cold conditions we use the tent coupled with our propane fire pit (a propane heater would also work). That has allowed us to extend our camping season significantly. We LOVE this tent. It literally goes up in a minute - then it takes five or so to stake down. It's very sturdy. It has proven effective at inhibiting rain and has stayed in place during fairly significant wind. One pro tip I got from a Clam customer service rep: do not attach the guy lines to the tabs at the top of the tent. Instead, attach them to the sturdy metal rings in the middle of each panel that are used to pull the panel into place when setting up the tent. The lower center of gravity and the sturdier attachment points keep the tent in place better in wind. Also, we have tied each guy line to a carabiner and that makes set-up faster - we just clip a carabiner onto each metal ring. If you plan to camp in any kind of cold weather and, like us, don't own a trailer you can really "hang out in," I highly recommend you also purchase a portable propane fire pit (we use the Big Red Campfire) or propane heater. It allows our source of warmth to be brought inside the tent, there's no wood smoke to permeate clothing, propane is cheaper than wood, and propane heat is also easier on the respiratory system than wood smoke. Also, we camp in the West and during fire season, wood fires are not allowed in many campgrounds. The only con I can think of would apply to any other good screen tent - due to its fine mesh it's warmer inside than outside the tent in warm weather. And since bugs and warm weather coincide, there have been a few times we've been a little uncomfortable inside the tent. We have little USB fans that we point toward ourselves, and that does help. This piece of equipment is an integral part of our camping set-up and experience. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great for Sports Events
Style: Brown/Tan Roof - w/ Wind Panel Flaps
I was originally looking for a rectangular canopy with wind shields for our soccer tournament at the end of February and ran across this Quick Set. I watched all the YouTube videos and thought it would be idea. because they made it look extremely easy to put up and take down. I'm glad I did because it worked awesome ! It was easy to put up and take down, all the kids loved it and everyone that walked by it asked about it. They were amazed how easy it was to put up and take down as well. It worked great in the rain but would advise the following: 1. Treat it with scotch guard first 2. Buy a large plastic tarp for the bottom because everyone ended up putting their gear in their which kept the floor dry when it started to rain.. 3. Get the wind shields, it did great not only for the rain but for the cold winds. Pros: 1. Easy to setup, easy to do it by yourself 2. East to take down, easy to do it by yourself. 3. Plenty of space for a family of 4 including a small table 4. Worked great during the cold days (although, haven't tested it during the summer) 5. Worked great during the rain with the angled top; the water won't collect like the rectangular canopies do and just sheet flows off. 6. The quality seems top notch including the carrying bag and zippers but time will only tell. Only a couple of downsides: 1. I bought this for just my family but it ended up being the team's tent and was too small for all of them to fit including our table with the food on it but that's actually a compliment. 2. Because how easy it is to setup/take down, the Quick Set tent is already assembled and ready to be setup and/or collapsed. This makes it pretty long when closed but it's probably similar to the 10x10 or 12x12 canopies when they are collapsed. I had to use the rectangular opening in my middle seat to get it to fit in my car (bmw 535) or prop it up on the rear seat of my LR4. So make sure you pay attention to the dimensions when it's collapsed but it's still worth it and if you have a truck, no problem at all. 3. Because how tall it is when closed, not the easiest place to store in the garage but neither is a 10x10 or larger canopy. Just a heads up if you have a small garage like me which barely fits 2 cars in it. On that note, I would definitely buy again and recommend it to anyone that asks...although, I would probably buy the next size up for a team tent. UPDATE 10/20/2021: Still enjoying the Clam and it's still holding up but need to warn you. I won't use this during summer, due to the mesh sidewalls, wind flow is basically non-existent. You either need to get yourself a battery powered fan (or maybe 5 of them) like the one Milwaukee sells or don't use. I ended up using a simple umbrella which is smaller and easier to pack. Since my daughters play soccer year around, I still use it during the colder parts of the year and think it's still a great value. Glenn ... show more

  • Camp outside and keep out the bugs!
Style: Brown/Tan Roof - w/ Wind Panel Flaps
So, I bought this product after enjoying one my friend had. We were camping up in the mountains and had bugs including bees “bugging” us and her dog. Her CLAM tent saved the day. We were able to enjoy the mountain air and could eat in peace. She bought the smaller tent because it is just her and her dog. The smaller tent held 3 camping chairs and a small round table but not much else. I bought this size which is perfect for larger chairs and a decent sized table. It provides good shade. It appears to be pretty sturdy. I also bought this color because the top outside edges have a flap that covers the top of the optional panels keeping the rain from dripping inside, the other colors do not have this feature. It was super easy to put up. I am glad I bought it! ... show more

  • Great design / marginal stitching
Style: Green/Black
Awesome design, easy to set up and tear down pretty high quality materials and worked well. Downside is the stitching is coming undone and not finished very well. Not sure how long the stitching will last with all the unfinished stitching joints or ones that are coming undone. Contacted customer support they said that the stitching met their standards and suggested I returned it if I was not happy. Frustrating as they have a 1 year warranty but I'm not really sure whether I want to risk it or not. Overall a really great design with good materials and maybe I'm overreacting but when some of the stitching is already coming undone and the rest looks like the pictures I'm little nervous what it'll be like a year from now. ... show more
