  • 5 stars for the product, 10 stars for me for buying it!
Color: Gray
I bought this for my raised deck (8x10), on 2nd floor of my house. I had been looking at getting a retractable awning with attached bug netting, but that ended up getting very pricey (between $4k and $6k), and then finding that awning dealers were no longer selling the bug netting (probably getting damaged when the awning auto-retracts in higher wind. This $200 tent has become one of the best purchases in many years for me. This 6x6 tent fits perfectly on my 8x10 deck. The 6x6 is really the dimension of the top framework. The expanded sides (that bow out from the tension rods) actually measures close to 8x7. I first opened it up in my living room to get acquainted with the deployment. Then I closed it up and took it out to my deck. It was nearly as easy to set up in those cramped quarters (due to the side of the house and the railings) as it was in my living room. I really enjoy sitting outside listening to sprinkles land around and above me - but I don't like getting wet from them. As long as the wind isn't blowing with the sprinkles, this tent keeps me dry. Even a slight breeze is okay as the water has to work a little hard to get through the screen. I love being able to eat outside when the weather permits. I have an umbrella for really hot/sunny days, but it doesn't cover as much of the deck as I sometimes wish it would. And I really don't like when the bugs start swarming while I'm eating. I had purchased a hanging mosquito net to hang from the umbrella, but that was pretty inconvenient and only good for solo dining. With this tent, I can easily get my food out on the table with only unzipping and rezipping with each trip. And when I'm eating, it's so peaceful not having to constantly swat bugs away. Oh, and this time of year there is a lot of cottonwood (summer snow) blowing around. This blocks 99% of it (although some does follow me in as I go in and out). This is a real game changer for my outside dining. My very first meal in it (a beautiful steak dinner) would have been interrupted by a sudden sprinkle had it not been for being in the tent. What a great way to christen it! It's plenty big inside for 2 people to comfortably lounge on patio furniture or eat at a small table. I've only been using it (nearly daily) for a month or so, so I can't speak to its durability just yet. The zipper is very heavy duty looking, and I haven't seen any indication yet that it might be a problem. I do wish for one change (which I can make myself, but would be nice if built this way), that the lower zipper had a different color of grip string. It is too easy to grab the top zipper when you want the bottom one. I'll probably add a colored ribbon to the bottom one. It doesn't get too dark inside like I was afraid it might. I still have to wear my sunglasses sometimes when I'm reading in the tent. And I can still catch the sun's rays when it isn't straight up. I was also worried that the netting would make it too stuffy inside, like the mosquito netting I had did, but it is quite comfortable since it lets a bit more breeze through. Portability - if I was going to do anything out at a park with any regularity, or go camping, I would get a 2nd one of these for that. When closed and in its (very rugged) carrying case, it is quite light and easy to take with you. My kitties just love this (as pictured)! ... show more

  • It is awesome!
Color: Gray
I am so glad I purchased a 6x6 Clam! It is super easy to set up and take down and is like adding a bunch of square feet to my Airstream. (Especially since Basecamps have no awning) I spend half of my time around camp in it now. The only con of the many pros for me is that the roof material is too thin to block out the heat from the Sun. So I added a 6x8 garden shade cloth I found on here with carabiners for attaching. By chance they hook into the loops provided for the side walls so it works and effectively and blocks the Sun. The side panels are good for privacy and are adequate for blocking morning/evening low levels of Sun. It fits easily into the carrying bag and into the bed of my F150. ... show more

  • What a Fantastic Piece of Gear
Color: Gray
Just recently returned from an RV trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Great campsites. Steady breezes and plenty of sunshine. But truth be told, I was nearly carried off by mosquitoes. I felt like the flying monkeys form The Wizard of Oz had been genetically modified to appear in miniature form and with slavering jaws and blood-shot eyes. These things were vicious. Now THIS thing could have sorted them all out! I wish it was in my vehicle then and I can guarantee that it'll be there if/when I return. One of the other couples at the RV park had one of these set up beside their rig and when asked, they raved about them. Told me how easy it was to set up and how sturdy it was in the wind. I stifled a yawn thinking, "Sure thing, Lady." But then she brought out the bag that the thing was carried in when folded up, and I was stunned. It was only a hair bigger than the bags that most camp chairs come in. After stepping inside and noticing how incredibly roomy it was, I was sold Bought the gray one, 6' x 6' and it's got plenty of room for two chairs, two dogs, and two humans. Could NOT be happier. I'm actually looking forward to mocking those blood-thirsty creatures from inside this thing. ... show more

  • Great tent
Color: Brown/Tan Roof/Black Mesh - w/ Wind Pane...
Best thing I've purchased for camping in a long time. Easy to set up even for a 70year old lady. The small size will fit in the storage compartment of my class B+, and it's going to give me me many hours of added outdoor pleasure. I'm very allergic to bug bites so I have to spend many hours indoors in the evening unless I want to coat myself in chemicals. This will keep bugs out and give me privacy while sitting outside. Plenty of room for two or three plus a small table and my three dogs. It's a little hard to get the top up without help but if you tip the tent over you can pull it out just like the sides. Very easy to take down. Im using it now at my house on the patio for bug free evenings. I got two side panels for extra privacy and to keep out sun if needed. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Easy to Use
Color: Brown/Tan Roof/Black Mesh - w/ Wind Pane...
Delivery was prompt. Even though the box was damaged, the gazebo was fine. I had been looking for something like this for a while to put on my deck which is 7 x 17 ft so it won't fit most pop up screened in gazebos as most start at 8ft. Even though the stats say the gazebo measures 6x6 and that is true of the base, the middle of the walls bulge out a bit so it was a snug fit for 7 ft between the house and the deck railing. Not a complain, just a statement. Once you understand how to put it up, it goes up and down as quickly and easily as advertised. The materials and construction seem to be very sturdy and it folds back up and into the bag that comes with it. Spent an afternoon on the deck with no interruptions from insects even while eating (Our yard borders a wooded area). I put 2 chairs and a 3x2 table inside. I could have fit 2 more chairs in but then the 2 people closest to the door would have to get up to let the other 2 out. So far I have nothing but good things to say about it and definitely would recommend it. ... show more
