This is my first set of thermal underwear in this style, so I may be missing the point somewhat, but these seem way too tight for comfort if you're going by typical men's sizes. I realize that these are probably supposed to fit snugly, but I'd argue that you should probably purchase these at one size above your usual letter-based size and ignoring the numbers. I have to say, despite being way too tight on me, I probably could've still worn them if it wasn't for the size of the neck hole. Exacerbated by their turtleneck-style collars, the small neck hole just made it feel as though I was being lightly strangled, and I couldn't get past that issue. The rest, while tight, still felt great, so I have to assume these are supposed to be really snug on you. The material feels incredible. Alas, I could really only recommend these as long as you're able to return them if the fit isn't to your liking. Honestly, these things would be PERFECT for the Try Before You Buy program Amazon does. Worth a look, but go with the next size up compared to normal.

I have not worn these yet in cold weather, but I expect they will help keep me comfortable during the coming winter. I am six feet and 170 pounds; the large size fits me nicely. I like how nicely the uppers look. I'd feel totally comfortable stripping down to the shirt if I found myself in a warm room after coming in from the cold. It is a mock turtleneck and has a Steve Jobs' look. I was disappointed the bottoms do not have a fly -- otherwise I'd give these five stars.

I am allergic to any and all synthetic materials against my skin for any length of time. Which is bummer because some of these fleece varieties are obviously both warm and comfortable. These are so soft they're almost tempting to get my own set, but I know better than to. Took me years to figure out what was aggravating my skin - my underwear, mainly, (and my blankets). These are another gift for my son-in-law, and I was extremely pleased to see there are 2 sets in the package, I must have missed that; they were down to the last few, so I was hustling to get size info and all - when items are down to the remaining few in piece-count, they can go away before the eyes. Glad I got these, he'll be coming in that much warmer (or at least that much less cold) at the end of the winter days, I KNOW 1st hand what he's working in. These will suit him well.

I generally don’t purchase base layers with turtle necks but when it gets really cold I often wear one layer with one. The turtle neck is comfortable and not too restrictive. This base layer is really quite comfortable. It’s thin, lightweight and warm. There isn’t much more you can want. It’s not yet cold enough to be wearing these yet but I’ll de wearing these on plenty of winter steelhead trips this year.

I wanted to get some of these when it gets much colder when I walk my dog. They feel fairly warm. I haven't really tested them since the weather is like 70 degrees out now. The bottoms fit really nice. I take a 40x30 pants. This is actually what I wanted to wear under my jeans since my legs get colder than my top. I usually take a 2XL for most shirts. This seems to fit a little tight. I figure that it might be needed to keep the body heat in and might loosen up over time if I wear them.

Most importantly, these long johns are soft, comfortable, and fit like a glove. The sizing chart was a little confusing (who wears pants at the "hips" measurement line?), so I ordered size L. I'm 6', 150 lbs, and they fit perfectly. Sleeves and pant legs were just long enough, snug without being too tight, and feel great under other clothing. The one strange thing is that the blue and the black sets literally are not the same. The blue set fits much more snugly than the black set. Also, they have different tags, logos, and sewing design highlights. Not sure why that is. It's not that important to me, because they are great long johns. However, folks should be aware that if you get a 2-pack, they might not fit the same, or look the same as each other.
