  • Amazing KVM and one of a kind. Common issues due to 3rd party described below
Style: 2x2 8K30Hz DP
This is an awesome KVM (I got the 2x2 DisplayPort one). Previous KVMs I've used are all limited to 60fps, or even 30 in some cases. I've also had reliability issues with other KVMs that I don't here. However, it took a bit of debugging to sort out issues I had with the KVM, none of which were its fault: 1. Biggest issue: excessive flickering for a few seconds shortly after switching to a device - The issue was with my HP Reverb G2 VR headset. It does something hacky to the system to get its display to work, which causes issues even if you bypass the KVM and directly hook up the monitors to the PC. You've probably noticed it mucking with the displays when connected. For some reason, this hackery persists even after the headset is fully disconnected. You need to reboot after disconnecting the headset to get rid of its changes. In other words, each time you finish using the G2, you need to disconnect and reboot, or display reconnection will have flickering due to its tampering 2. KVM randomly switches monitors without me pressing the button: it was caused by the mouse shortcut (double click middle mouse button) which I would accidentally press twice sometimes due to the finickiness of my mouse. Fixable by disabling mouse shortcuts or rebinding to something that's harder to press twice on accident 3. Keyboard shortcuts not working even though the shortcuts button is enabled on the KVM and keyboard is plugged into the KVM's keyboard port: My Corsair gaming keyboard was the culprit. For some reason, even though it works _completely fine_ when connected through the KVM, keyboard shortcuts weren't being registered. When I connected a normal keyboard, I was able to use keyboard shortcuts 4. Not waking the computer / USB devices not re-enabling when switching computers: make sure the dedicated power is connected to the KVM After debugging those, this KVM has been a rock solid experience. I'm able to get 1440p 144Hz with my two monitors, which I've never been able to get with any other KVM. It only comes with 2 DP cables for the KVM->monitors, so make sure the 4 you're using from device->KVM are rated appropriately for the resolution+speed you want. There are a lot of sellers on Amazon selling "high-speed" DP and HDMI cables that aren't actually high-speed. KabelDirekt cables have all been high-quality in my experience, if you run into issues with your cables. ... show more

  • Does What it's Intended to Do
Style: 2x2 Displayport 4K 60Hz
When I got a newer "travel sized" laptop for work, I wanted to be able to work from home without struggling over the tiny keyboard, so I looked for a solution. A docking station, by itself, wouldn't be sufficient to use all the peripherals I have on my dual monitor desktop setup, so I researched and went with this. Setup was pretty simple. I had to buy a USB-C "Thunderbolt" DP splitter for my laptop, as well as a couple extra Display Port cables. I got everything setup rather quickly (running cables under my inconveniently placed desk was the hardest part) and at first had some problems. One of my DP cables must have been defective (or too long), so the laptop wasn't displaying on both monitors. Just bought a new cable and that resolved. After using it for a couple weeks, it's a pretty solid piece of gear. The full sized Razer keyboard switches no problem, and I was able to plug my USB received for my wireless mouse into the switch and have it recognized by both computers with no problem. The detachable switch button is handy, as I keep this device far at the back of my desk, under both monitors. The only reason I didn't give this 5* is the fact that on occasion, a monitor will cycle off and then back on. Not sure if it's a bad connection or what, but it is usually fixed by unplugging the cable that runs from the switch to the monitor and plugging it back in. Given the placement of the switch, that's a pain. It's a nitpick, for sure, but since I can't give a 4.5* rating, got to go with 4. Overall, cheaper than most commercially available docking stations, more flexible and a useful piece of technology for you road warriors who find yourself working from home and are tired of leaning over a laptop all day. ... show more

  • 100% recommend this product for anyone looking to switch between a gaming PC and a work laptop
Style: 2x2 8K30Hz DP
I switch to this model from the "Aten" KVM I was using because the ATEN would continually stop displaying video on one of the monitors when I switched between computers. The only work around was for me to either plug and unplug wires or reboot the computer whos video would not show up. This was extremely annoying. I purchased the CLKau hoping it would work but figured I could return it an try another one if it didn't. To my excitement it not only worked but exceeded my expectations. Both my monitors are 27inch 2K 144Hz . One is a Dell the other an Asus. This KVM switch allows me to set both systems to run at 144hz with no issues whatsoever. Switching between them is quick, and screens are always in the same position. One side affect I liked was my dual joysticks never switch from left to right anymore (they did this all the time with the Aten). This means I no longer have to constantly reprogram them when I switch to my gaming system which runs a rtx3090, and my joysticks are dual VKB's Another awesome feature unexacted was both my wireless mouse and wireless keyboard work 100% when switching and it still provides me 2 extra USB ports to use with anything else I wan't such as charging my keyboard an mouse when required and at the same time leaving the dongle USB's plugged into the CKLau. I do have to say when the box came and it weight almost nothing and was so small (about the size of 4 decks of cards) I thought this is crazy this tiny thing is never going to work. Boy was I wrong! ... show more
