  • Good device some features I would like to see though
Style: USB3.0 4x2 HDMI
I basically wanted to write this review to tell those buying this one important thing. Since the once that I had uses primary HDMI ports I needed a way to convert my laptops output of HDMI and DP to an input. If you use DP to HDMI for the audio, going into Port Input (1). you may experience this popping sound that happened ever 10 seconds. I highly recommend to only use HDMI to HDMI port 1 for audio which I switched out. Other things I would like to see is maybe a switch memory. It defaults back to 1 when you turn it off and back on. I would also like to see the complete removal of the beep. As the Right Ctrl 2 times, B and Enter works for turning off the button beeps, but the on and off beep still happens. ... show more

  • DISABLE THE KEYBOARD MACRO
Hello all, I've had this CKL kvm for a few days and had issues with this product within the first hour of owning it. Sometimes the connection to the keyboard would time out while in use. The way I fixed it is by disabling the keyboard hotkey with the physical button on the kvm. If this doesn't help you, buy a 3.0 dock and use the 3.0 port on the switch, it will significantly save you time. Also, the refresh rate limit seems to be not a thing with my computer reporting a stable 165hz to the display. It's a good product but I think the hotkey feature gets in the way of software bound keyboards like most higher end gaming keyboards. ... show more

  • Excess hub stacking
Style: USB3.0 4x2 HDMI
This KVM works fairly well. I was able to get QHD 60Hz to work through it, which is a very picky resolution. This is more compact than the DVI+VGA model. There is an audio-out port on the front, but there is no indication how to use it. It does not show up as an additional device via USB, and it does not take over either of the HDMI ports' audio. You'll really want to use their power adapter. It was not stable when pulling only power from USB, nor using a powered USB3 hub for the barrel connector cable. Keyboard characters can stutter, etc if there is not enough power provided. Just something odd to be aware of. Some docks will route USB3 ports differently than USB2 ports. While the USB 3.0 KVM appears to only be one USB hub deep, when plugging it into an HP dock, it ends up being one more chained port than the USB2 only version. The USB limitation is 5 in a row, and that includes any internal hubs for devices, any external hubs, etc. ... show more

  • Finnicky but works
Style: USB3.0 4x2 HDMI
The short story is, it works. It's finnicky and has a couple of warts. But, if you need a dual-monitor HDMI KVM and have some patience (and the right parts), you'll very likely be able to get it to work and be pleased with it. The longer story is, out of the box I had a couple of problems and came very close to returning it. The first problem was, one of my monitors was a DVI monitor. I connected it to the KVM using an HDMI-to-DVI cable (not a DVI cable with an adapter). When I switched between computers, the screen would look fine for one second and then turn to colorful static. Both the monitor and the cable worked fine without the KVM, but I tried a different cable anyway. No use, didn't work, same behavior. The second problem was, my PC has two video ports, HDMI and Display Port. The KVM detected the signal from the HDMI port fine, but not the Display Port. Again, I used a cable (HDMI to Display Port) without an adapter that worked fine without the KVM. So, I boxed it back up and requested a return label from Amazon. A couple of days later, before dropping the box off for return, I decided to try again. I bought an HDMI monitor to replace the DVI monitor and then did some research into the Display Port problem. Turns out, I needed an active Display Port adapter with an HDMI cable. The Display Port to HDMI cable I had was passive. (And if you don't know what this means, I didn't either.) A week later, with the new parts in hand, I hooked everything up and it all worked fine. Also worth mentioning, one of the computers hooked up to this is a MacBook with a USB-C to HDMI cable, which works fine, no adapter needed. As for the warts, there are two. The first is, it doesn't come with a power adapter. It comes with a USB to power plug cable, but you need your own USB charger. (I used the one that came with my Roku because that device is plugged directly into the USB port on the TV.) This is a $300 KVM. For that price it should definitely come with a power adapter. The second wart is, it needs to be power cycled about once a week. What happens is, my mouse still works fine, but my keyboard (Redragon wired keyboard) stops working (though, it still draws power and the RGB lights stay on). Luckily, the KVM has a power switch on the back. So, I just need to turn it off, count to ten, and turn it back on. (Of course, the computer thinks the monitors have been unplugged, so all the windows on all the connected computers get moved around and resized.) I'll also mention, my mouse is a wireless Logitech M570, which works perfectly when the receiver is plugged into the mouse port on the KVM. I purchased this KVM to replace an IO Gear single-monitor DVI KVM. Wireless receivers do not work in the mouse port on that KVM, so there's another plus for this one. If you do purchase this and need to attach it to Display Port, here's the adapter that worked for me: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S0C7QO8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ... show more

  • Not compatible with aleinware ultrawide AW3423DW out of the box
Style: USB3.0 2x2 DisplayPort
The Included cables cannot run a 3440x1440 monitor at 175Hz. I have the Alienware AW3423DW and I had to purchase 6-foot VESA-certified DP 1.4 cables to make this setup work. I tried 10-foot DP 1.4 cables and they failed but they were not VESA certified. Once I switched to 6ft VESA-certified cables I was able to run full 175HZ on my Alienware. Hope this helps somewhere out there because this took a lot of troubleshooting. Overall this is my second KVM from this company and they work well, as described. Would be a 5/5 if the unit came with better cables. ... show more
