  • Easy Dependable Switching!
Style: USB3.0 2x2 DisplayPort
It's been ages since I've used a KVM, but I'm back to having both a PC and laptop and I really wanted to be able to choose which to connect to my dual monitors, good keyboard, gaming mouse, and other peripherals. This KVM met all the technical specs I wanted, particularly the high graphics refresh rate. So far so good! Everything is switching fast and dependably. In my setup I use a 4K photography grade monitor at 60htz and a 1440 gaming monitor at 144Htz. It seems to pass the signals through fine from both computers. Montor switching was the reason I wanted a KVM instead of just using a USB switcher, as switching monitor sources just took too much time and effort, so the convenience versus cost was worth it to me. The laptop is connected to a thunderbolt hub. The hub is connected to the KVM. This allows me to connect the laptop using a single cable and it leaves the KVM cords connected and in place. I use a high speed wireless keyboard and mouse. I decided to not use the Keyboard and Mouse USB ports on the KVM, but instead I connected a webcam to one USB 3.0 port and a USB 3.0 hub to the second USB 3.0 port. The keyboard/mouse dongle is in the hub. There are 8 USB devices in total being switched between computers. I already had two high-end USB audio devices, one for desktop speakers and one for headphones. I use these because I like fast and easy switching from headphones to speakers (from either machine) without having to plug and unplug the headphones. I also have a USB mic connected to the hub. Thus, I can't comment on the KVM mic and audio switching. I really like the remote button. It lets me leave the unit and cables hidden under my desk. Second, some switches use colors to signify which computer is being used, and I find that slightly harder to remember than the brightly lit numbers on this KVM's remote. "1" for the desktop and "2" for the laptop. The lights are small, but easy enough to read at a glance. ... show more

  • Migrated from IOGear to get HDR with my setup
Style: USB3.0 4x2 HDMI Matrix
The KVM looked similar in style to some I’ve seen used in YouTubers rather expensive setup builds and at the same time costs less than half of what I paid for my 4k hdmi IOGear kvm. The IOGEAR worked well but this KVM has a few things going for it for the better: - HDR support - Remote that has dedicated buttons for each port not just a single cycle button - ability to disable hot keys so that the HID ports act like a regular usb 2.0 hub - IR remote control for possible universal remote control applications - smaller form factor (1/2 volume, 1/3 footprint) - faster switching between ports - displays seem to sleep better (no black backlight all night) - fast wake-up times (1-2 seconds for both displays max) - metal body feels sturdy Overall negatives: - ports feel cheaper - the lights on the remote are insanely bright for a bedroom setting - usb devices were a nightmare for macOS, basically I had to specifically use a usb 2.0 hub for all my HID devices and a usb 3.0 hub for my high speed devices because each usb version chain counted as an extra usb nesting when connected behind this KVM also note usb 3.1 is different than this hubs usb 3.0 and counts as an additional nesting. Things I cannot say will be good or bad: - support (never contacted them and hopefully won’t have to) - hot key functionality(my QMK keyboard and gaming mouse need to have hot keys disabled) - included cables( I just used my already working cables I had ran to my IOGEAR KVM before.) Overall for half the price and the bump in features I am glad to say this KVM is my favorite so far. ... show more

  • Works pretty reliably
Style: USB3.0 2x2 DisplayPort
I’ve been using this for a month, and I’m pretty happy with it. I have a pair of 1440p monitors that I like to run at 144hz, and it handles them just fine. My video cadd even recognizes that one of the monitors has g-sync Also, I was bery pleased that it works with my gaming keyboard (though I had to plug it into a USB 3 slot). The keyboard is a logitech G-910, and most KVM’s don’t supply enough power and/or prevent the logitech software from recognizing the keyboard. No problem with this KVM. Only 1 holdback: since I’m running 2 monitors at high res, and high refresh, I can tell I’m pushing it a little. Every mow and then (maybe once every couple of days), my secondary monitor drops and comes back. It’s fairly rare, and otherwise the switch has been flawless, so I still give it high stars. ... show more

  • Works - for the most part
Style: USB3.0 2x2 HDMI
Purchased this KVM to switch between M1 MacStudio and a Windows 11 box. Although the screen switching works fine (4k @ 60hz) the USB is a mess for me with my peripherals. I currently have plugged in a KinesisGaming keyboard, Logitech G603 mouse, a Logitech Brio camera and a Razer Kraken headset. When switching between the two computers there is 100% chance that the Kraken headset will not work without removing it from the switch and plugging it back in. There is a 10% chance that the Brio will not turn on without unplugging it. There is a 10% chance that the keyboard or mouse will lock up such that the only way I can get it back is to turn off/on the KVM to get it to work again. ... show more
