I had a Citizen chronometer type watch, with stop watch buttons decades ago and it was a nice alternative when I had no chance of ever getting a Rolex. The construction was solid and it had a nice brushed patina that looked classy for it's low price range. I was a bit disappointed when I received this modern version from Citizen because it doesn't have the same magic. To be honest it looks a bit chintzy and cheap. The steel bracelet is a mixture of highly polished shiny steel and satin polished soft gloss and the combination is a bit meh. It does have a nice easy to use fold over buckle on the strap which is secure and sets with a good click. Pros: very nice looking watch, you won't even know it's a smart watch. I also like the weight and feel of the watch as it just feels like a normal watch as compared to a fossil gen 6 smart watch. I really love the watch but considering the cons below, its a deal breaker for me. Cons: battery life sucks, don't expect it to last a day. Might be good for only 8 to 10 hours with minimal use. Price is also quite steep but I guess that's because of the materials used for the watch exterior. Software is also laggy/buggy. Got this for my husband who has an Apple Watch. He was looking for something more formal while still able to track fitness and receive messages. This watch can do exactly that. It can link with iPhones health app and tracks your steps. You can receive and view text messages and even answer phone calls. It looks very nice and does not stand out as a boxy smart watch. The only hang up is that you cannot respond to texts but that does not bother my husband. Overall, my husband thinks it’s a very good looking, well working watch that fits his needs.     • Great looking watch, but Citizen is not a software company

Citizen is a respected watch brand, and this is a really nice looking watch. The screen is bright and easy to see, and the band is attractive and comfortable. It runs Google’s operating system Wear OS rather than its own proprietary operating system (like some other watches I’ve owned) so theoretically, anything you can do with a Google app, you should be able to do on this watch. Citizen makes a nice looking watch, but they’re not a software company, and it shows. Things are not intuitive or easily figured out, and there’s a surprising lack of information available online. This may be because the model is fairly new. I don’t know how to schedule do not disturb times, for example. I’d like to wear the watch to bed to track my sleep cycle, but if the screen lights up every time I get a notification, it’s going to disturb my sleep! Also, if I customize settings in regular mode and then switch to battery saver mode, the settings reset. It would be fine if these were two different profiles, but when I return to regular mode, it doesn’t automatically return to the settings. It would be so much easier if there were different profiles to save your settings in each mode. The watch’s own app is next to useless. I don’t even know what it’s good for. The built-in step counter isn’t great. I installed custom watch faces because the ones that come standard are very simplistic. Wear OS includes so many apps with options, but the custom watch faces from those apps won’t integrate things like the watch’s step counter. One thing I’m excited about that I haven’t gotten to work yet is the golf app. The app should give information about golf courses and yardage so I don’t have to pull out my phone, but it keeps saying it isn’t connected to the phone, even when it is. Another time it never found the GPS signal. The watch also doesn’t tell me what’s wrong when something doesn’t work. If I need to change a setting or connect to different network, give me a notification! Our phones do it all the time — a smart watch should be able to do the same. On the more physical side, the watch charges super fast but uses a proprietary charger that requires contact. The glass of the watch face isn’t very strong. It has a lot of scratches after only about a month. I’d recommend investing in a screen protector. It’s also not at all waterproof. The older generation was rated for some contact with water, but this new model warns about even washing your hands with it on. That seems a bit too delicate to be practical. Overall, I wish this watch had a more intuitive user interface that allowed for seamless integration of the Google apps. I wish it worked to do everything I want it to do that it claims to be able to do. I’m going to keep working with it and hope I can configure it into something that meets my needs! ... show more
