The item I ordered was the 24 ml Agrax. Instead, I was sent the 16 ml Agrax. Recently GW changed the formula of their shades and paint line. The shades were reformulated to be more like contrast. However it’s a goopy mess and imo garbage. If I wanted the 16 ml version, I’d have searched for it. If you advertise and list 24 ml, then deliver 24 ml. I purchased Agrax Earthshade after reading about it online. I'm old school, painting AD&D miniatures from the 70s and 80s, and it sounded like this was a great innovation. No. I did not purchase the "gloss" version of this paint, but it was still completely glossy. I had just airbrushed a bear miniature some nice shades of brown, applied this paint, and feel like it ruined the miniature. It would be great for something like a shambling mound or some other wet-look miniature; I was disappointed and would not purchase it again. ... show more

    • Great dimension when painting minis
I've just started using shades when painting (typically I do a base color, mid tone, drybrush and paint highlights as well), and wow Agrax Earthshade really adds dimension when painting. This works great when applied to a lot of things that are in the general color scheme. Recently painted a cyclops and brushed this all over the skin and let it seep into the crevices and it really added dimension and depth top the paint job!
