I ordered this to avoid a plastic reamer against the fruit. But it does have some problems: 1) The heavy handle tends to fall down suddenly and can cause minor injury; 2) It presses down but doesn't ream the fruit, and without a reamer, you can't get any of the pulp (if you like that); 3) A small cap inside the half-sphere press keeps popping off; 4) it doesn't remove quite as much juice as a reamer would; 5) if the surface it is on is wet, the whole heavy apparatus can slide off. ... show more

This arrived with the top of the box cut off and the item was outside of the cillio box and into the shipping box. Nasty nicks on the copper. This is a gift so hope it works. I have squeezed several dozen citrus fruits over the three weeks that I have owned this press. It works very well, it is stable when used with two hands, and is relatively lightweight (10 lbs. 10 ozs. / 4.82 kilos). The inverted cone that pushes on the top of the fruit can be removed for "extra" cleaning (requires large flat-head screwdriver). See photos.
