It inflates pretty well, but the air does not seem to stay put, even with the vent locked as needed, I have noticed that it deflates a bit over the course of the night which requires reinflation if you want. The deflation portion is not so good, the fan that is used to deflate will sometimes get covered by the actual air mattress and will make very loud noised in order to deflate. I found that when deflating and using the fan to deflate, I pull the bottom of the mattress down, further away from the fan itself to ensure an easier deflation. The fan that it uses is very very loud, pretty much as loud as a hand held inflator. The fabric on the top of the mattress is soft to the touch and comfortable to sleep on. Husband and I ordered this to use for the first month of living in our new place, it holds air amazingly well, inflates fast, and we slept recently. However, with the top part of the mattress being the way it is, we kept slowly falling to the very edge of the bed, in order to not do this you'd have to sleep in the middle of the bed. This is a great indoor bed for when you have the grandkids spending the night. Easy to inflate and deflate not only that but usually upon deflating you're left with some air that you squeeze out a little at a time...not with this bed , the built in pump works wonderful. I deflated it and folded it in less than two minutes and packed it away under the guest room bed. Instructions and a patch (if needed) included also a nice strong carrying bag...you wont go wrong purchasing this item ... show more
