Good cheap motorcycle battery, installed on drz 400 sm and it started for a few months during the winter and was still starting when I sold the bike in December 2022.and I removed the auto compression release thing, probably would work even better with that on the bike.

Does the job but doesn’t last long. I’ve pretty much had to buy a new one once a year. It does fit the DRZ400 but keep in mind the bolts they supply you with are too large for the terminal holes on the cables so you either have to use the old bolts or drill the holes out a tiny bit.

    • Good battery for the DRZ-400
I’ve seen a few reviews about this battery for the DRZ-400S. I bought my last battery for this bike off Amazon last year and was underwhelmed (they still sell it). I never had confidence in the battery to have the juice to crank long enough if I laid the bike down (flooded engines take extended cranking to start). If I went a week without riding it, I had to charge it. It always just barely cranked. I just installed this new battery and already I have a ton more confidence in it. It cranked hard right out of the box. Keep the nuts and screws from your old battery if you own a DRZ: the screw size on this battery is just a little bigger than the holes in the bikes battery cables. You can use the old screw and nut with no serious issues. Other than that it feels like a perfect battery for this application. ... show more

The battery came well packaged. Although it had about a 90% charge, I put a charger on it for about 30 minutes. I've gone through 4 batteries in my 2004 DRZ400S since the original YUASA lead acid failed and have come to the conclusion that none of them are going to last very long in the DRZ. The DRZ's battery box is too small for a battery of adequate size to crank it unless it is in top shape and charge. I've tried the Vietnamese DELCO glass mat battery that you add the electrolyte and that failed after a year. My last battery was a Bikemaster lithium which worked well for the first year but failed a few days after it's 2 year warrantee. Faced with buying another $75 lithium, I decided to try this $30 battery and just buy a new one when it shows signs of weakening. It fit the bike but I couldn't side mount the cables as the terminals are not high enough. It cranked the bike about as fast as any of them when they were new. Will just have to see how long it lasts. BTW, I've got dongles on all of my motorcycles, snowmobiles, and ATV and charge them every month in the off seasons, so my DRZ batteries didn't die out of neglect. ... show more

Battery did not last. Worked for a couple months then nothing. Even tried to charge it with the correct charger for this type of battery. No go. Took it to a battery shop. Was told 'you have a bad battery'. Oh well.

Price was very reasonable. Packaging was good and included instructions for charging and mentions a 2 year warranty with contact information. Product made in Thailand according to packaging. After receiving it I put it on a charger just to make sure it would be up to par and my charger indicated it was fully charged and ready to go. installing in a Yamaha TTR-250. Will update review if things change but I'm optimistic this will work out for me. ... show more
