Top Amazon Reviews

  • Very Sturdy and Durable
Model: CC-MINIGS
This unit is very sturdy, which is what I was hoping for. It locks into position firmly, and holds my full size acoustic guitar just fine. I paid attention to another review that stated the rubberized section at the very top that contacts the back of the guitar might cause the finish to diminish or deteriorate, so I use a soft material crew sock when the guitar is not in the soft case I have for it. When the case is covering it, I don't need the sock. So, no problem placing it on the stand without the sock. Other than that small negative, I love this stand. It doesn't take up much room and I like that it is not fragile at all. Works for me beautifully! I have two of these---highly recommend this item. ... show more

  • Works well for a classical/Spanish/nylon string guitar
Model: CC-MINIGS
This stand is lightweight and folds up relatively flat for transportation. the locking mechanism is tight and sturdy enough to keep the stand from collapsing when it's engaged. The only disappointment I have with this stand is the way the rubber friction bumper at the top is constructed. [See attached photo.] It isn't what I would call *sturdy*. I have two other stands with similar construction to the ChromaCast, and the rubber pieces on those stands are firmly attached and difficult to move in any direction. On this stand, however, that rubber bumper is attached with two screws through the top: the thinnest section of that bumper. The bottom part of the thicker front section is easily lifted away from the front of the stand. If it gets caught on something by accident in transport, the entire front section could easily break off, making the stand unusable. So, this might be a nice stand to have in a studio where it doesn't get moved around a lot in vehicles with other equipment. ... show more

  • Fixable problems and great value
Model: CC-MINIGS
This light and sturdy stand has all the problems that other reviewers have complained about, but I was able to implement fixes and make these work. As other reviewers have reported, the foam rubber pads that support the back of the guitar did mess up the finish on several of my guitars. Fortunately, I was able to repair the finish issues with "Virtuoso Premium Instrument Polish & Cleaner Combo" which is available on Amazon. (I only needed the cleaner.) I was even able to clean up my nitrocellulose-finish guitar. I also implemented two fixes to the stands that so far have prevented damage from occurring. The first fix is to cut the end off of a cotton sock and slip the sock over the support pad on the stand (see photo). The other fix is to attach a piece of cork tile to the support pad with double-stick foam mounting tape (see photo). I like the cork fix best. The cork tile also helps the stand support the guitar more vertically. You can get cork tile at Staples (UPC 18103 23768). I found the foam mounting tape (Scotch Indoor Mounting Tape - UPC 21200 01053) at my grocery store. I followed these steps to implement the cork tile fix: 1. Peel off the foam rubber pad on the stand's plastic guitar back support piece. 2. Clean the foam adhesive residue off the face of the plastic support piece. I used Goo Gone followed by a rubbing alcohol and water solution. 3. Using regular scissors, cut a strip of cork tile about 9/16" wide and 2 inches long. 4. Cut a two-inch strip of the foam tape. 5. Attach the non-backed side of the foam tape strip to the cork strip. 6. Remove the backing on the foam tape and attach the cork / tape strip to the upper part of the plastic support piece. Press the cork / tape piece on firmly. With either of these fixes you can enjoy the benefits of these stands without damaging your guitars. You can buy cork-coated stands online but they're typically over $50. I now own six of these stands, and I've implemented the cork tile fix on all of them. I like these stands because they are compact, light and unobtrusive; they're inexpensive and they're easy to transport to a gig. Chromacast, please replace the foam support pads with cork so we don't have to! ... show more

  • Impressive guitar stand on a budget!
Model: CC-MINIGS
The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star review is because the padding behind where the body is held in place by the stand will leave a residue on the back of your guitar. The only way I've been able to fix this problem is to cut a towel and not too big but enough that you can put pull ties around that part then after that you don't have to worry about anything happening to the back of your guitar but for some reason it will leave a residue. Other than that great stand most of them are really stable and if there a little bit off they can always be bent a little for flat concrete floors otherwise on carpet they're great! In other words if you want your guitar to be on the right stand you're going to have to order the type that has a buckle at the upper neck part. But stands like this seems to do the job great another thing you need to worry about is as soon as you pull this out the box the two pads that your guitar sits on they come out and at the end there are plastic inserts that go into hold the padding immediately take this out and put glue on the inside of the hole on the stand then reinsert turn clockwise then backwards a couple of times to make sure you have a coat of glue all around then do that to the other side now your pads that your guitar sits on or stable and will never come out. But do this as soon as you get it they do not glue those in definitely not a lot of work if you got the things laying around and for the price it's definitely worth it I finally got mine ... show more

  • Couldn't ask for better
Model: CC-MINIGS
This is actually the cheapest stand I have ever bought and for 9 dollars more I could of gotten 2 of them for under 20 dollars I wish I did , this is stand is no different than the 35 dollar stand there exactly the same ! Fold up with ease and packs away in my gig bag no issues it hold the guitar properly and has a rubber top so it won't scratch the neck I'm buying these from now on you can't beat the price. ... show more
