See my pics and vid for sturdiness and appearance. I wanted a stand for my living room that wasn't black metal. I needed it for my 5-string closed-back banjo that is VERY heavy. Normal guitar stands do not hold my banjo. This does! The only disclaimer I have is that I had to turn the hook upside down otherwise the banjo was being held by the two bottom tuners. However, this works very well and is super secure. Even if bumped it's not going to crash over. I had doubts when I first opened and assembled it. It seemed way too light to hold such a heavy instrument. Assembly was simple and took under 5 minutes. This is a great buy if you need to display an instrument in a main room and want it to look nice too. In fact, I couldn't find a better buy that wasn't double the price or more.

I have waited over a year to review this guitar stand (I bought 2) and as a lifelong musician I'm pretty qualified to rate them. Although more pricey than most, my Martins and Gibsons that each cost in excess of $5K each have been properly and safely held by these stands, causing not a single mar or mark of any kind for over a year. These are simply the best stress-free stands you can buy. I hang only my acoustics on them but I'm sure they would work just as well with a Les Paul or a Telecaster. Now, they are NOT "Road Ready" so I wouldn't drag them around to shows per se, but to hold your guitars at home or in a studio you simply can't get any better than this. I write VERY few reviews because most things just aren't all that special, but these guitar stands are well worth the $ for any serious player/collector. Thanks

Here is what I like about this stand: (1) It is plenty sturdy. (2) it is really a nice size - not too big, not too small. I use the stand for my Martin HD28, which is a full size acoustic guitar. If the stand were any shorter, the guitar would hit the bottom of the stand - that would not be good. As it is, the guitar hangs nicely and securely in the stand. (3) I like the fact that it is made of hardwood. (4) I like that all the hardware and tools supplied are of good quality. (5) The stand is packed securely so there was no damage in shipping. Here is what I don't like: (1) As you can see from the photos, the base is stained a different color from the tall, upright part. The upright part is a rich looking walnut stain. From the Ad on Amazon, you can see that both the upright and the base are supposed to have a rich, deep stain. Clearly what I received is inferior to the photos of the product shown on Amazon. This makes me unhappy. (2) The assembly isn't "5 Minutes Quick Assemble" like the Ad says. Here's what I experienced - "out of the box," the upright part of the stand didn't fit into the routed opening in the base. The routed opening was about 1/32 of an inch too small to allow the upright part to seat deeply and securely into the base. So I had to use some of my woodworking skills and tools to gently enlarge the opening. Once I did so, the upright part seated correctly into the base, and I was able to install the supplied bolts, using the supplied Allen wrench, to finish the assembly. It took me about 10-15 minutes to assemble the stand. Once assembled, it looks great in my office. I don't really notice the two different shades of walnut stain when my guitar is hanging on the stand. So, I can live with it, even thought it isn't exactly as advertised. Once the weather gets a little nicer, I plan to re-stain the base with a deeper walnut, so the base and the upright part will look the same.

This simple and attractive guitar stand is perfect for the room, visually, as well as a great way to hold a guitar. The adjustable cradle helps with the asymmetrical design of above the neck so the instrument hangs properly. It’s a win.
