You can select from a number of lights action. The star at the top is like a topper on your tree. It works great and was easy enough to set up. The strings can become tangled, so when storing away, roll up each line of lights and secure it before moving to the next. Bottom line is that it worked and looked absolutely great. It will be used for years to come.

First I attached the ring at the top of the star to a 7 ft pole. Then I zip tied the pole to a fence. Next I spread out the strings of lights, anchoring the bottoms with the included ground nails. Third, I attached the plug to an outdoor extension cord, and Forth I stood back and enjoyed the "tree." I am still playing with the 8 light variations to decide which I like most.

So no matter how you separate the strings they still seem to intertwine themselves while setting it up lol that’s okay no worries. I love this thing, however I was careful when pulling the strings of lights to stake them in the ground for obvious caution reasons. I know it’s a decoration and delicate. Well as careful as I was I went to move one string and it snapped off. 🥺 The first picture is what it looked like until the string snapped. The second picture is what it is after. It still does all modes but only blue and green. On the positive those are my two favorite colors. It was a bit disappointing though. However, I’m still pleased !!! I’d buy again 😃🇺🇸

I hung it from the large ash tree, next to a family of rattan deer with soft mini lights. The color is such a rich, dark, glowing color of blue like a tempting swimming pool at night! Looks really cool when loose enough to flow downward, and at the 3-D arrangement gives the entire middle of the lawn more depth. Am so happy with it! One thing I'll try to enhance is the star on top. Aluminum foil? Silver or gold garland outlining it?
