A boost pedal shouldn't be a big deal. And this one isn't. It gives you adequate decibel boost and EQ before the preamp of your amp. This usually makes a noticeable difference in the sound of a guitar, (often described as "brings it to life") and this pedal does it just fine. I ordered the compressor version of this pedal, and while it definitely did that—though pretty average in that regard—it also added a bit of distortion as well. I had a friend who is much more experienced guitarist than I try it, without any comment from him—and his conclusion was, "Weird. But I like it." Meh... Is all I can really say it does sound acoustic-like and it will do in a pinch so you don't have to swap between an electric and an acoustic. For example if you are playing a song like ''Forever" by Kiss, The song is played all electric except for the solo, this will help you not have to change instruments but it's meh... ... show more
