spent around 2 weeks before even getting to use the skates because i couldn't for the life of me get that toe stop nut to come down and adjust to the height i wanted it at, the other side came down smoothly though couldn't find any replacement nuts at a hardware store (home depot or lowe's) tried using a vice and didnt work, got multiple people who were stronger than me to try and pop it down like a pickle jar but it just wouldn't budge when i finally got it moving i realized that it was the actual rubber that was degrading because of the force i put on the nut, and now the whole thing is useless and now i’ve gotta go hunt for a semi decent toe stop that isn’t designed for little ones, made of hard plastic, or ones that don't the include the nut i need so the manufacturer screwed on the toe stops so tightly that i basically broke the toe stop trying to move the nut down the threads even a millimeter or two the skates themselves are pretty nice though, wish i could use them properly ... show more

I got these skates for my sister. For the prices you are getting a decent skate. Metal plate and trucks which will help with movement if you want to do dance skating. Here is a few suggestions I have if you are getting these as your first pair of skates and are planning to use them outdoors. You will want to loosen the wheels they come with no spin. Loosen the wheels with a wrench roughly a crank and a half to get a skateble wheel. The trucks are also a bit tight which makes it hard to turn so about 3/4 or 1/2 crank with a wrench will smooth that out as well. Again if you want to use these for outdoor I would highly recommend to replacing the wheels to some more rubber pliable wheels. Moxie and Impala sell some good and cute outdoor wheels you can replace the plastic wheels with. ... show more

I love these Chicago Skates. I bought them for my niece who wanted a black skate. She has had them for a couple of months and they are wearing well. I skate with her, so I see her with them on almost weekly. They are comfortable, fit well, and a great value for the money. The wheels and ball bearings spin easily once you adjust them a little. They include a tool to tighten or loosen the wheels based on how tight you want your wheels. The only challenge is that the tool is not strong enough to complete the job, so by wheel two, I had to use my own tools to tighten the wheels. However, it was well worth it and my niece loves her skates and uses them all the time. I would definitely recommend Chicago Skates. ... show more

I'm a size 8 in women's (or size 7 in men's) so I decided to get the size 6 since they do fit like a 6 wide rather than a 6 normal. They fit great! They're nice and snug but loose just enough to where I have wiggle room. I primarily use my skates outdoors. The wheels that come with it aren't bad for outdoors, but I'd recommend getting better outdoor wheels and rink wheels. The bearings on my skates were fine and I felt no need to change them immediately, but just like the wheels, investing in some better bearings would be beneficial. ... show more
