Does it have that new car smell? Not exactly. That new car smell is from the outgassing of volatile organic chemicals (VOC's) from the plastics in a new car. It produces a mild chemical odor that's hard to describe. And that's what this car deodorizer does. Does it smell like the VOC's from plastics? No, not exactly. But it does produce a mild chemical odor that's not unpleasant and hard to describe. So it's doing pretty much the same thing with a slightly different scent. Bonus, this stuff has zero dangerous VOC's. You're not breathing anything that will kill you! I checked the material safety data sheet (MSDS) the company posted on it's website. As long as you don't drink the stuff, it's harmless. I've found that by spraying a microfiber cloth with about 4 shots of this that it will last 3-4 weeks. I place one cloth in the passenger compartment and one in the trunk. The natural airflow from the HVAC system distributes the smell as a nice soft, not overwhelming scent for up to a month. At that rate, this bottle will last me years. Highly recommended over the nasty little cardboard pine trees or or heavy spice scented hanging car deodorizers. This is invisible and smells better. I did the Spray on microfiber towel and leave under the seat method , this works great , car smells great . "new car smell" / chemical smell can be overpowering at first but after a few days it's not bad.

This smell is so refreshing. The volume of the bottle for the price you pay can’t be beat. The bottle shipped quickly and there was very minimal leakage with the packaging. I expect liquids to leak a little and it wasn’t an amount that was worth noting. I was looking for something noticeable but not abrasive. Ideally long lasting where I wouldn’t need to re-spray every few days. So far this is checking all of the boxes. I did follow others advice and cut a microfiber into 4 pieces, gave it a few spritzes and placed it under or behind the seats. Incredibly pleased with this product ... show more

I really enjoyed this spray. It has that boot store scent too. I sprayed this on almost everything..Car interior, Curtains, Shoes and just around the house for that clean leather smell. The only negative thing I have to say is the scent does go away kinda quick. I am a fan though and will buy more.

The scent reminds me of my cousin's brand new Toyota Highlander Hybrid that I was recently in, or at least something rather close to it. Now I'm not sure whether all new cars smell the same but, at least in my experience, this product comes close. My friends too immediately noticed that the car smelled as if it were new, so a bit of a confirmation there. Do take note that, as other reviewers have mentioned, you only need to spray 2 to 4 squirts under the glove compartment (or close to wherever your A/C's internal fan is). It's strong stuff and a little goes a long way. I have been using it for a bit over a month now - 4 squirts the first time to give it a good go, and then 1 squirt every week after. The best approach is to turn the A/C fan on, squirt and then allow the air to recirculate for about 10 minutes. If the scent is too strong for your taste you can always air the car out until it's just right. I would advise against spraying the product just before driving. You can, but you might walk away from the car smelling just like it. At my rate of use, the 16-ounce bottle I bought will last for a rather long time - a year, maybe, to a year and a half. Compared to those fresheners-in-a-can, this product is more economical. I have tried other air freshers that claim to have that new car scent before and have always been disappointed but, happily, not with this one. I used this spray directly on my car cabin air filter, onto the carpets and elsewhere in my car. While the initial scent is nice, it's not like "New Car Smell" whatsoever, and the scent didn't last longer than a few days. I like other products from these guys, but this did not perform well.

I suppose one could liken it to a new car smell, though no new car smells like that. It's not unpleasant, especially after few hours, but use must be very, very light - and as such longevity will be quite limited. Use too much (like just free-spraying inside of the car) and it's just toxic. I mean take a whiff of the open bottle, ooof, nasty. So what I do is have a folded microfiber towel under my seat. I give it 4-5 squirts every week or so and that's it. Then the car does smell quite nice, kinda sorta like a new one. ... show more
