  • Need to Read!!
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
The negative comments are both right and wrong. For anyone interested in this product please read this! As in any application of wax, sealant, tire shine, surface-enhancer, whatever it may be, surface preparation is incredibly important! Car wash is a good step but to truly prepare the trim surface for VRP and allow it to bond to the surface properly you need to de-grease it. That means get some super clean from walmart, dilute it 2 to 1, and clean the surface with a microfiber until no dirt or grease comes back onto the cloth. If you don't do this, VRP wont have much to hold onto but surface grease, and yes, it will run off with water. I have used this product extensively and in two main ways: a) Trim restorer/enhancer b) Tire restorer/enhancer I will update this review with pictures but for now just take my experience for it please! We have rain storms here in PA all the time, and not once has my properly prep'd tires rejected or slung VRP. ON the other hand, my un-prep'd trim has started to shed it with the rain. I hope this helps you, car care companies don't really tell you this stuff so you either believe me or go watch a YouTube video and believe them. ... show more

  • Nice Until Wet
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
I'm glad I didn't review this product right after I applied it - I would have given it 5*, as it was easy to apply, had a pleasant smell, and really brought back the black, but didn't make it super shiny or slick to the touch. BUT after the sprinklers went off, the water left behind really ugly grey marks on the black trim. That was after the trim had been left untouched to dry for 16 hours. I'm really disappointed in the longevity of this product - it works until the black trim gets wet - then it's back to ugly AF. Does anyone have any better product to recommend, as I'd rather not drop more bucks on bogus products that suck. I bought an entire Chemical Guys line-up (Mr. Pink, clay bar + lube, V32,34,36,and 38 compounds, VSS, Blacklight, Torq RO machine, interior leather, non-leather, etc... the whole dang package) and so far I'm 50/50 on product satisfaction. I wanted to get all my detailing products from the same company, but now I'm thinking that was a mistake. I'm bummed. ... show more

  • LOVEEEEEEEEEEE VRP WHEN USED CORRECTLY!
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
I am a professional detailer. This is my go to tire shine. Every one here with a bad experience has applied incorrectly or used for an unintended purpose. You people should try restoring your plastic instead of covering it up with a tire shine. And You might get better results. Its a water based product. Dont be mad when water washes it away. Be bad at your self for that one. Aside from that. Try cleaning the plastics an rubber. With degreaser/alcohol before applying. No product will last on a dirty surface. And thats one thing you DIYers dont understand. PROPER PREP WORK IS KEY! ... show more

  • Interior use only!
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
This is a decent product if you use it in on interior trim/plastic parts. However, be forewarned, do not use it on exterior trim... at all, unless you live in a desert. At the slightest rain or even heavy dew during an early morning drive, it will run off the treated trim onto any nearby surface leaving an oily, hazy residue. It's not permanent nor does it cause lasting damage but it looks awful and require a the vehicle completely again to remove... during which the remaining original aoplication of VRP is washed away as well. Point is, other products do not have this shortcoming, go with them. Strongly recommend against spending money on this. ... show more

  • works great if it doesn't rain
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
works great if it doesn't rain! Lasted 1 day then it rained and left white "scratch marks " all over my plastic. Called chemical guys and they had no idea what I was talking about nor had a solution.

  • Good for tyres; terrible for other exterior areas.
Size: 16 oz Style: VRP
EDIT: I found a better product - CarPro PERL. Let me explain. While PERL is almost twice as expensive as VRP, it can be diluted in ratios anywhere from 1:1 up to 1:5, so you can get more liquid per unit price using PERL. Also, I found that diluted (1:1) PERL lasts as long as VRP, and I'm okay with this. Further diluted versions are used in my engine bay, and interior, and exterior trim, without the problems associated with VRP. -------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW -------------------------- Bought this product because of the numerous great reviews. As soon as I got it, I applied some to my cleaned tyres, and it worked well. The tyres has a satin look to them, that wasn't overly glossy, plus the product didn't sling onto my paint when driving. Understandably, the product lasts longer on the tires when it doesn't rain. The maximum number of days I've had acceptable levels of shine is about 7-8 days (of pure dry, warm weather). So far so good. Also applied the product to some plastics and rubber pieces in the engine bay, and it works well there. Decided to apply this VRP to some outside trim one day. At first, those trim pieces (plastic and rubber) looked rejuvenated. For the next 2 days, which were dry, the product stayed on, and the pieces were still looking fine. But on the 3rd day, it rained. From what I observed, the product was partially washed away. There were some gray, unsightly, and clearly visible water marks on the treated areas, and directly below these area, there was residue on the paint, showing that the product was washed away. So disappointed. Maybe I might buy this product again for my engine bay parts and tyres, but if I can find another product that can treat all rubbers and plastics well, I'm jumping ship. ... show more
