  • Very well made
style: CH-06
For the price I think this is probably one of the best that you can buy. Very sturdy, made with good quality steel. Base is very stable. Extends to about 9 feet or maybe even more. But the higher it extends the more precarious the setup gets. The only complain I have is that the nuts and bolts are probably painted. My hands were black after screwing them in. Everything else is perfect. Best value for money. Buy. ... show more

  • Perfect for what I need
style: CH-06
This review is for: CHAUVET DJ CH06 Lightweight Lighting Stand w/T-Bar (50lb Capacity) - Purchased for use with my band. Specifically for lighting dance floor with sound-activated party lights and a blacklight bar for an upcoming show. We have stage lights but needed something to throw some lights and color onto the dance floor. The DJ CH06 is a well constructed light stand for lightweight application. I do not believe that it would be wise to use this particular stand for heavy stage lighting, we have our own heavy duty stands for that. This is for lightweight use and is perfect for the job. The info says it extends to 12' but I only extended it to 10' 5" and it seemed just fine but I will be adding sandbags on the legs for a little *extra support* just out of an abundance of precaution and I will be positioning it in an out of the way location at the venue - out of the way as possible that is and maybe near a wall... Extended out to 10' 5" it was sturdy and not wobbly but even if it was a super heavy duty stand, I would still take the precautions mentioned above. Recommended? Yes. It is a very good value for the money for the correct application. Other reviews I've read seem to complain about it not supporting large lights and etc. The total weight of the lights I am using; 4 sound activated party lights, 1 blacklight light bar is approximately 6 lbs. And with that, I know that I can easily add more lights to it if need be. ... show more

  • Good quality stands with plenty of height.
style: CH-06
I do a lot of mobile lighting for theatrical productions, and recently needed to expand my rig. I needed something that would go at least 9 feet high and hold at least 8 lights on the top and bottom of the bar. I've owned a lot of lighting stands in my day, but these are definitely some of the best. Rugged, plenty of height, and capable of holding ten lights. Bonus points for the T-bar design, with the bolts for the lights included and permanently fixed! Pros: Plenty of height. They feel very rugged, especially for their compact size. These things collapse down to something like 3.5 feet! Bolts that can be left in place, with a simple wingnut to secure the lights. Very well-attached retaining pins (the things you usually lose after your first gig). Cons: The legs don't have a very wide stance, meaning if mounting heavy lights and raising to max height, there's a bit of a fear of falling over. You'd have to bump them pretty good to make that happen, though, and some sandbags might be enough to resolve that. ... show more

  • SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT Easy to set up and breakdown
style: CH-06
I have steel lighting stands and I also have this one. This one is my go to lighting stand. Everyone knows how heavy stands can be, this stand is super easy to move around it's perfect for quick applications. The price point makes it easy to purchase and if you're like me and you frequent certain venues often it's small enough to pack away and leave in a closet. If it get stolen or lost, it's less than $50 and it wont hurt to replace it. I'm definitely buying another one. ... show more

  • Perfect gig stand.
style: CH-06
While I had to "jimmy" a couple of the expansion holes just a bit because they were very tight, this thing is a lifesaver for my band. I bought an eight-light LED kit, and I was hoping to be able to fit most of them on this stand. No problem! The lights I got are too wide for all eight to fit under the T, so I install 4 on the bottom, and the other 4 on top. The LED lights are very light-weight, so I don't worry too much about the stand toppling. I do put EZup weights on the feet, just in case. I also try to tether the top to something secure, just in case we get a gust of wind. This stand is so easy to put up, and to take down. I just keep my lights installed on the top bar, as it's easy to transport back and forth. The T pops right off of the stand, then right back on again. It tightens with a nut that had a comfortable grip on it. EASY! ... show more

  • Excellent Value!
style: CH-06
I bought these for home use and to set up a light show for my grandkids. I was actuality very surprised how well this stand was made and how well it held the four lights I mounted on it. I think it will last quite a well as long as you take care of it. I can see if a person playing multiple shows and moving around a lot might want something more substantial, but IMHO this is great and a solid stand. ... show more

  • Good value
style: CH-06
Good value and decent quality for the price. Easy to set up and seems sturdy at least for how I've got it configured (holding four LED lights). I'm not sure I'd say it's "light weight" though. It's not really heavy or bulky, it's just not light weight in my opinion.
