  • Well, I guess I’m a convert now. Fantastic and beautiful set!
I am almost annoyed by how much I love this set because I went into this experience fully expecting to be underwhelmed! I follow the beauty community on social media, so I’m very familiar with Charlotte Tilbury as a person, but I’d never actually tried anything from her brand before. The pricing sits firmly in the luxury category, and between the marketing and the price point, I expected to find the products overpriced and fairly ordinary. I’m also someone who gravitates toward flashy, glittery makeup, and the Pillow Talk collection is about as neutral as it gets for my personal taste. I genuinely thought I was going to hate how these shades looked on me. Well, I was wrong on practically every count, and now I understand why this line is so beloved. The formulas feel genuinely luxurious, the products perform beautifully, and the overall look is so effortlessly elegant that I’ve found myself wanting to explore the rest of the collection! The lip liner strikes a really nice balance between firmness and smooth application. It’s stable enough to give you control and definition without dragging uncomfortably across the lips, and it lays down color beautifully. The lipstick is equally impressive, with a velvety texture and a gorgeous matte finish that feels much more sophisticated than I expected. It does emphasize the little lines in my lips, which is something I’ve become more aware of as I’ve gotten older, but a light gloss topper helps soften that effect beautifully. It’s an easy adjustment rather than a dealbreaker. The eyeshadow might actually be my favorite product in the set. It is exceptionally creamy, applies with almost no effort, and blends out like a dream. Despite how easily it blends, it sets to a finish that stays put without constantly creasing or shifting around. I love eyeshadows that practically do the work for you, and this one makes achieving a polished look incredibly easy. What surprised me most was how beautiful the complete look turned out to be. It isn’t remotely as sparkly or dramatic as my usual makeup, but there is something undeniably classy and flattering about these shades. The finished effect feels polished, sophisticated, and timeless without looking boring or dated. I can absolutely see myself reaching for this combination when I want to look particularly put together, and I never expected to say that about a predominantly neutral makeup collection! The holiday kit itself is also beautifully presented. The compact is lovely, and the included mirror is a particularly nice bonus that feels substantial and high quality rather than like an afterthought. The lipstick and liner are minis, which is worth knowing before purchasing, but I still think the set offers excellent value considering the quality of the formulas, the presentation, and the opportunity to try several of the brand’s signature products together. Honestly, this is a fantastic introduction to Charlotte Tilbury makeup, especially for someone who has been curious about the brand but hesitant to spend luxury prices without knowing whether the products are worth it. In my opinion, the formulas genuinely justify the price point. I went in expecting mediocre makeup with excellent marketing, and I came out wanting to buy more of the collection. Five stars, without hesitation. Highly recommended, even for those of us who normally prefer our makeup with considerably more glitter! ... show more

  • The Perfect Little Pillow Talk Gift to Myself
Sometimes it’s hard to justify splurging on makeup when there are so many genuinely good drugstore brands available now. I can find plenty of mascaras, blushes, eyeshadows, and lip products that perform beautifully without making my wallet question my life choices. But when it comes to finding that perfect nude lip, I have yet to find anything that quite does Pillow Talk like Charlotte Tilbury does. I’ve been a fan of the Pillow Talk line for a while, so when I saw this little set, it felt like the perfect excuse to replace the Charlotte Tilbury lip products I was running low on. With the holidays coming up, I decided to call it a gift to myself. Honestly, I support this kind of holiday shopping. The Pillow Talk lip combination is still one of my favorites. The liner and lipstick give me that pretty nude-pink look that somehow manages to be natural, pouty, playful, and just a little sexy all at the same time. It’s one of those shades that makes my lips look better without looking like I tried to completely change the color of them. Every time I wear Pillow Talk, I get that “my lips, but somehow much more fabulous” effect. I also really like having Eyes to Mesmerise included. The cream formula is incredibly easy to work with, especially when I want something pretty on my eyes without getting out a bunch of brushes and turning my makeup routine into a full production. It gives me that soft, dimensional look that pairs really nicely with the Pillow Talk lip without making everything feel overly done. But honestly, the packaging is what takes this from a nice makeup set to something that feels gift-worthy. The heart-shaped tin is adorable, and I love that it’s actually reusable instead of being something I’m supposed to admire for five minutes before throwing away. It’s big enough to hold makeup brushes, smaller cosmetics, or all the random little beauty things that normally end up rolling around in a drawer. And you absolutely don't have to use it for makeup. If you're younger and carrying a backpack to school, I can absolutely see this becoming the cutest little pencil case in the room. Imagine pulling out your pink Charlotte Tilbury tin when everyone else has a battered plastic pencil pouch. Suddenly you're taking notes like you have a very important appointment at a luxury department store. At around $45, I think this is a really nice way to get several Pillow Talk staples in one package, especially if you're already a fan of the line. The reusable tin and compact mirror also make it feel more substantial than simply buying a few individual makeup products. Overall, I absolutely love this set. Pillow Talk is one of those rare makeup shades that has earned its iconic status for me, and this little collection gives me several of my favorites in a package that is almost as cute as the makeup itself. It's a great holiday gift, but sometimes the person who deserves the gift is the person staring back at you from the bathroom mirror. ... show more

  • Really nice set from Charlotte Tilbury
This Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Icons On The Go set is a really sweet little gift piece, and it comes exactly packaged the way my partner's past Charlotte Tilbury pieces have been, which is to say beautifully. The heart shaped box with the red ribbon alone makes this feel like something special, not just a cosmetic you tossed in a bag. Inside you get a travel size Pillow Talk lip liner, the full size Pillow Talk Matte Revolution lipstick, and the Pillow Talk Eyes to Mesmerise cream eyeshadow, all in that signature nudey pink shade family that Charlotte Tilbury is known for. My partner has used Charlotte Tilbury products before and has always said the brand is one of the more reliably high quality names out there, the formulas feel luxe going on and the pigmentation holds up, so this set lives up to that reputation. The lip liner is supposed to wear up to 6 hours without smudging and the matte lipstick is rated for up to 10 hours while still being hydrating rather than drying, which matches what we have come to expect from this line. The cream eyeshadow has that glide on sheen finish with a bit of rose gold sparkle, so it is easy to apply even if you are not a makeup expert. The compact mirror built into the tin is also a nice touch since it means the set doubles as a little travel kit you can toss in a purse. As far as value for the money goes, this is priced well for what you get, especially since the full size lipstick and the keepsake tin alone would run you a decent chunk of that price if bought separately, so getting the eyeshadow and lip liner bundled in on top is a good deal. For a gift set in particular this feels worth it, since the presentation does a lot of the work for you and you are not paying extra for flashy packaging that falls apart, it actually feels sturdy and reusable. Charlotte Tilbury tends to sit at a higher price point in general, so getting this much product and this nice of a tin for the price makes it one of the better value gift sets I have seen from the brand. Overall, from what I've seen on my partner, this set looks and functions quite well, the colors seem to be pretty accurate, and I didn't observe any reactions or issues with her skin, so it looks like we're all good to go on that end. ... show more

  • Excellent Formulas That Look Great
I always wondered what the big deal was about the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick and liner. I don’t have to wonder any more. I ordered this sample set as a try-before-you-buy trial. It contains a small lipstick, lip liner, cream eye shadow, and a mirror compact. The lipstick is the star of this show. It’s a perfect nude shade that I think would look good on most people, regardless of skin tone. It certainly looks good on my warm-toned skin. It glides on like butter and makes the lips feel soft and hydrated. It dries down pretty quickly and doesn’t smudge or transfer. It lasts a good 3-4 hours of normal wear. Eating and drinking makes it fade a bit, but I thought it was pretty durable for such an emollient formula. The lip liner matches the lipstick perfectly, so if you want to see your lip liner, pick another one. This one works best to define the lips and diminish feathering. Its creaminess makes it easy to apply without tugging. When the lipstick is worn away, the liner survives—very long lasting. I really like the eyeshadow for its soft, whipped texture, which pats on and blends smoothly. It’s a pretty, soft shade of taupe that gives a subtle luminosity. I used it on the outer edges of my eyes and in the crease for subtle definition. The mirror features one side with normal resolution and the other with slight magnification, great for someone like me who doesn’t see as well as she used to. There’s nothing flimsy about it. It has good heft and a sturdy hinge. It’s also a very pretty rose gold with a pink lacquered top. These products are the perfect size for makeup bags or travel kits. Though the set would also make a great gift, I’m keeping it for myself. All of the items have earned a place in my regular makeup routine, and I will purchase full sizes when these are all used up. ... show more

  • I'd been on the fence about trying Pillow Talk, but it works great with my fair neutral olive skin
While I've loved the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks I've tried so far with my fair neutral olive skin, I felt really on the fence about the much lauded Pillow Talk as I was worried it'd look off on me. I'm a big fan of MAC's Teddy 2.0 as a my lip but better (MLBB) and from photos, this seemed like it had a white base that would look a bit sickly. I had read that using the lip pencil across the entire lip as a base could help warm it up a bit, so I did that before applying and was pleasantly surprised by how hydrating the pencil felt — it didn't leave my lips dry or tacky at all. I then applied Pillow Talk and to be honest, at first neither my wife nor I were feeling it. After about ten minutes or so, I'm not sure if it oxidized a bit or what, but it's like the color shifted enough that it felt more natural. It wears beautifully over the lip pencil and without it, and seems to fill in crevices in a way that makes my lips look a bit plumper. Granted I use it with MAC's lip primer, I've had no issues with it feathering. Funny enough, the eyeshadow ends up looking just like the ruddy discoloration around my eyes, but with ✨ sparkles ✨— and somehow, it works! I like it, wife liked it on me, and the creamy texture applies smoothly with good color payoff. Overall, I'm really glad I had the opportunity to try this out as I'm not sure I would have gone for it otherwise as CT has so many other gorgeous lip colors (Hollywood Vixen beats out my MAC Ruby Woo as a favorite red by far!) and I was so unsure this would work. Technically they have it in other shades like fair and deep, and it does respond nicely to undertone from a lip pencil base, so imo if you're also on the fence, it's worth giving Pillow Talk a try. ... show more

  • Such a cute gift set for gift giving (or to keep for yourself😉).
It’s that time of year when different brands start releasing their gift sets. So when I got the chance to order this Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Icons On The Go Gift Set, I was excited to give it a try. Right away, I love the pink heart tin that has a quilted look to it. It so much cuter than getting the set inside a plain cardboard box. The gift set comes with 4 items inside. There’s a dual mirror compact, that looks high end and well made, which fits perfectly in my purse’s makeup bag for when I need to do touch up’s away from home. Then there’s the Pillow Talk Original Lipstick in the Matte Revolution formula, which is such a cute nude pink shade that enhances my natural lip color. And to go with that lipstick is the Lip Cheat Lip Liner, which is easy to apply, stays put once it sets, and is also waterproof. Lastly, there’s the Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow, which has such a beautiful shimmer to it, along with its easy to blend and lasting formula. Overall I am really glad I got the chance to order and try this Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Icons On The Go Gift Set. All the products flatter my light skin tone and I can already tell I will be repurchasing the lip pencil and lipstick when the time comes. ... show more

  • Really cute set. Easy to carry sizes in your purse. Ideal for Valentine's Day if gifting.
This set is unbelievably adorable. Comes in a nice heart-shaped box with a bow on the outside and it looks like it could be a really nice Valentine's gift. I do find the season that it was purchased. A little strange considering it looks so much like a Valentine's Day gift as if they didn't have it like the the bright pink if they had the green with the bow, it could have easily been a really nice Christmas gift idea again. I bought it in the fall so it just seems like a strange time to have it looking Valentine's dayish but it is adorable and the products are really nice. It comes with a mirror and little mini sizes of their main products. The lipstick and the lip liner being well worth just set. It also comes with some eye color that I'll just keep in my makeup box, but the primary purpose of what I wanted this was to have the little travel size lipsticks and gear, which I am very pleasantly surprised with are they're nice, they're small, they're not bulky and they'll be very easy to carry and a tiny little purse that holds nothing other than my phone. Please note these are not full size products. ... show more

  • Very nice products and extra special presentation
I love this make-up set. I am in my 60s with pale skin and rarely wear make-up other than some neutral lip color. The shades in this set are perfect for me. I love the pencil (you need your own sharpener), and the lipstick looks and feels great. What surprised me most is the shimmery eye shadow. It is a rather neutral color and feels great on my eyelids (and I haven't worn eye shadow in many years because of aging in the eye area). I would definitely wear this for special occasions. The compact and tin are also very nicely made and look great. The compact/mirror has both normal and magnification sides, and the glass is protected by a light film (that you remove). The compact is somewhat heavy, and I wish it had a clasp (but that's OK). The heart-shaped tin is adorable and great for storing items or even re-gifting with other little trinkets. Altogether, I love this set! I would highly recommend as long as the color would work for you (or your gift recipient). ... show more
