  • light fragrance, magic water cream is my favorite
This Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream and Serum set is quite hydrating, I like all three moisturizers. The magic serum gives a subtle glow without looking like you have glitter on your face. If you want a little bit of a glow while keeping your skin moisturized this is a good one to try. This does have a light scent and seems to have the heaviest fragrance out of all three but it isn't overwhelmingly fragranced. This one also feels the least moisturizing out of all three but creams are usually more deeply moisturizing so that is to be expected from the serum. The water cream also has that signature fragrance but this one seems to have the lightest fragrance in this set. It isn't as hydrating as the magic cream but it still does a good job. It just has a lighter feeling to it, sort of like a mix between gel and cream. As for the magic cream, this one feels the heaviest comparing to the other two. I can still feel it when I touch my face about 15 minutes after applying. This also has fragrance but again, very light, enjoyable, not overwhelming. If you are looking for something deeply moisturizing the magic cream is a good choice. All three creams dry and absorb nicely, doesn't leave your face looking greasy or oily. I would say my favorite out of all three is the magic water cream, but perhaps it is because I'm using this during warm summer months and my skin just wants something that cools it down a bit and gel creams do that. I know during the cold winter months I will probably change my mind and prefer the magic cream. This set is a great way to try all three before committing to the full size. They are all 30mL or less so that makes it travel (flight) friendly as well. If you are looking for a lightly fragranced face cream to try I would recommend this one by Charlotte Tilbury. It can be a bit of a splurge due to its price point but I think the product is lovely and feels like a nice present to yourself. ... show more

  • A “Try Before You Commit” Glow Kit That Makes You Look Well-Rested
I grabbed this set because I’ve used Charlotte’s Magic Cream before and had a good experience with it, but I wasn’t quite ready to commit to full sizes of the rest of the line. This felt like a safe little “let me date the whole family before I marry one” situation. Also, I already have a soft spot for the Pillow Talk makeup line, so I figured… alright Charlotte, impress me again. After using this set consistently, I get why people are so loyal to the Magic line. It’s not one of those routines where you wake up looking like a completely different person overnight, but it does give you that “wow, I look rested and hydrated even though I stayed up scrolling” kind of glow. Let’s start with the serum, because she’s the quiet overachiever. The Magic Serum Crystal Elixir has polyglutamic acid, which is basically hyaluronic acid’s overachieving cousin that holds onto moisture like it’s paying rent. Then you’ve got Vitamin C in there helping with brightness and niacinamide keeping things balanced so your pores don’t try to steal the spotlight. It goes on super lightweight but gives your skin that plump, slightly juicy look almost immediately. The Water Cream is perfect for Florida life or anyone who hates feeling like their moisturizer is sitting on top of their face judging them. It’s lightweight, absorbs fast, and gives that glassy, fresh-skin finish without feeling greasy. The niacinamide in this one really helps smooth things out and tone down any redness, which I always appreciate. And then there’s the Magic Cream… the diva of the group. It’s richer, more traditional, and still does what I remember it doing—making your skin look smoother and a little more “put together” than it has any right to be. The peptide blend (including that whole Recoverstem™ situation) is there to support elasticity and overall skin bounce, and while I’m not out here claiming a facelift, I do notice my skin looks more plump and even when I use it consistently. What I like about this set is how everything works together. You layer the serum for hydration and brightness, seal it in with either the Water Cream or Magic Cream depending on your mood (or how dry your skin is feeling), and suddenly your skin looks like you drink water and mind your business. If I had one small caveat, it’s that the Magic Cream can feel a bit rich if you’re oily or in humid weather, so I tend to reach for the Water Cream more during the day and save Magic Cream for when I want that extra glow moment. For around $94, this actually feels like a smart way to try the line without blindly investing in full sizes. You get enough product to really see how your skin responds, and not just a one-use sample situation. Overall, this set gave me hydrated, smoother, more glowy skin without any drama… and honestly, that’s all I’m asking for at this stage in life. ... show more

  • ideal companion for warm-weather trips, this set keeps traveling skin happy and hydrated ideal companion for warm-weather trips, this set keeps traveling skin happy and hydrated
I've tried some of the Charlotte Tilbury line of skincare before, and while I'm not committing to it and abandoning my other skincare routines, I'm happy to have this set on a part-time rotation. I travel pretty often, and it is really hard for me to decide exactly what to bring with me skincare-wise. I don't want to go overboard (but usually do), but neither do I want to go minimalist and end up coming home looking rough (when travel should make me feel and look refreshed) or leave behind the ritual of a routine. This set has been a great starting point when packing my skincare travel companions. Beautiful on the outside, it still gives me that ritual I crave, and simple yet effective when it comes to keeping my skin happy. The serum is lightweight, very hydrating, and not sticky or tacky. Even though I never drink enough water when traveling (road trips or airplanes, who wants to need the bathroom every 15 minutes?) and recycled air, different climates, and less sleep just add to the potential loss of skin glow, this serum evens out the game and makes it so that I'm not facing dull-looking skin. The magic water cream is a good match for daytime, because it absorbs readily and leaves skin hydrated, meaning SPF and makeup go on smoothly (and helps with looking good in any photos, too). The magic cream is richer, making it maybe a bit much for daytime, but perfect for before bed, so I wake up looking rested (if not feeling rested) and not spending any precious vacation time bemoaning my skin. This set is a great value for travel, and also would work well as a trial kit before committing to full sizes. While smaller than full-size, each product is generous, not something that will leave you struggling to get even a few days' worth out of. I'd recommend this if you already love the products and want something easier to take along on adventures, or if you want to try them out to discover your favorite(s). ... show more

  • Lovely gift set for moisturized skin. Lovely gift set for moisturized skin.
This is a lovely gift set of hydrating skincare that most people would be delighted to receive. It was a fair value for several luxury skincare products. I am not sure if I would repurchase though because I am a fan of Korean skincare which seems to be gentler for my mature, combination skin type and a better value. Use: I am over 50 and I really need extra moisturizing. As a regular retinol user I have some occassional skin flakiness and texture. I love Charlotte Tilbury's color cosmetics but I have mixed feelings about her base products like powder, foundations and concealers. They can be heavy and unforgiving. I find her skincare products tend to work really well in combination with her base products. The Magic Cream works well as a primer for the Airbrush foundation and concealer, which are matte, full coverage products that can appear cakey without a moisturizing base. Quality: The quality was great. The Magic Cream works well as a makeup primer. I like the Water Cream as an eye cream because it isn't too rich and won'tclog meiboimin glands or the delicate undereye area. The Magic elixer serum seems denser and creamier than other serums. I had mixed feelings about that because I prefer that a serum sink in quickly in my rushed morning routine. This serum would be good for nighttime pampering when I have time. The sizes are large for a gift set. The serum and Water Cream are described as mini sizes while the Magic Cream is described as a midi size. The serum is small and probably best as a travel size. I tend to use more serum while just using a dab of cream so it might not last as long as the creams. The Water Cream is a perfect size for use as an eye cream and it's the standard size for most eye creams. The midi sized Magic Cream is the medium 1 ounce size if you want to do a cost comparison. It is a pricey item if puchased alone so I think this set is a good value. I only use the Magic Cream as makeup primer and it's the right size for that. The 1 ounce size might be small if you use it as your regular moisturizer. Presentation: It is a beautiful set that is presentable for gift giving. I kept mine for myself though. You can see that the products are a good size because of the clear inserts and the box has all the ingredients listed. The jars are glass with rose-gold lids and the serum is a cute, petite glass bottle with an eye dropper style cap. Brand: Charlotte Tilbury still owns her own brand so it is one of the few luxury brands to be truly cruelty free and without a parent company that might not be. ... show more

  • Charlotte Tilbury Hydrate, Plump + Glow Set Charlotte Tilbury Hydrate, Plump + Glow Set
I am 46 and have dull, dry and aging skin - specifically fine lines and eleven lines on my forehead. I am obsessed with using great skincare products to try and combat my concerns and Charlotte Tilbury is always one of my favorite brands. I recently had the opportunity to order and test the Hydrate, Plum, and Glow set. This is a 3 pack of some of Charlotte Tilbury’s most iconic products. It includes a full size, 1 ounce Magic Cream, a travel size .5 ounce Magic Water Cream, and a travel size .3 ounce Magic Serum. All three of these products are lovely, and the Magic Serum is new to me. The Magic Water Cream is designed to create bouncy and deeply hydrated skin. It is formulated with great ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and biopeptides. It is free of fragrance, sulfates, silicones, parabens and alcohol. I love that this is a super lightweight gel cream that applies, massages and absorbs so nicely into my face. It leaves my face feeling so soft and nourished. The Magic Cream is designed with anti-aging and age reversal in mind, and features key ingredients like their trademarked Recoverstem Peptide and their trademarked Triple Power Custom + Lift Mesh Technology. This one is free of parabens, alcohol and sulfates but does include silicones and fragrance. This is a heavier cream that is always my go to when I need an extra deep boost of moisture and I feel that it helps lessen my fine forehead lines. The scent is very lightweight and I think it’s pleasant. The product in this set that is new to me is the Magic Serum. This is an anti-aging serum that is designed to reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, while also brightening and plumping skin. It is formulated with thoughtful ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, vitamin c, antioxidants, zinc and vitamin e. It is free of sulfates, parabens and silicone but includes fragrance, alcohol and oil. To me, the scent of this one is very light and almost undetectable. This serum definitely brightens my skin and helps it look more plump. It absorbs well but does not leave my skin feeling soft - instead it leaves my face feeling almost matte in texture. It’s not sticky - it’s just not smooth and soft. Ultimately, I like how my skin looks with it but not as much how it feels. Overall, this set is really great and I have not had any adverse reactions to using this trio of products. The fact that the ingredients are so nice in quality and work so well, along with the value in a full size product and two generously sized travel sized products for this price makes this set an awesome deal. This is great for someone who wants to make a lower investment to try these products, and is also very giftable in the gorgeous packaging. ... show more

  • Charlotte Tilbury Magic set for hydrated, glowy, glass skin. Charlotte Tilbury Magic set for hydrated, glowy, glass skin.
This Charlotte Tilbury mini set is a really great introduction to the Magic line. The three products work great together, and a little goes a long way, so the smaller sizes still last a while. The Magic Serum Crystal Elixir is a lightweight, silky serum that layers easily and gives an immediate boost of hydration along with a luminous glow to the skin. It uses ingredients like glycerin and polyglutamic acid (which holds even more water than hyaluronic acid) to help plump and smooth the skin, along with niacinamide for a more even, radiant look. It creates a soft, glowy base that works well under makeup, but it also just makes my skin look better on its own. It has an herbal geranium with lemony rose type of scent that matches up with the Magic Cream. Charlotte's Magic Cream is the richest of the three, with a thicker, more emollient texture that really softens and smooths the skin. It's literally made to work well as a primer underneath makeup, and it excels at that, but it's also one of my favorites for getting rid of winter dry patches. The signature powdery, floral (geranium-leaning) scent is very noticeable, but I personally don't find it overwhelming because I enjoy it. The Magic Water Cream was new to me, and it's a new favorite. This one is completely unscented. The texture isn't as thick as regular Magic Cream, but it feels just as moisturizing, and leaves a slight oily feel and glass skin look on my skin. It really makes my skin look less textured somehow, like it blurs but also looks dewy and glowy. It works well under makeup, but it also is one of my favorites for no makeup days because it makes my skin look radiant and smoother. If you're curious about Charlotte Tilbury's skincare and how her products wear and perform under makeup, then this is a great value set. I'm really happy to have finally tried the Water Cream because I expected it to just be a lightweight Magic Cream, but I actually like it even more. ... show more

  • Great set for trying out or traveling. Glad I ordered this before investing in the large water cream
I have been a long time user of the CT Magic Cream and love it for my skin especially as I'm getting higher up in age. I was excited to try the magic serum and magic water since I haven't tried them before. The Magic Cream has a new formula, but can say it looks, feels, smells, and performs identical to their old one which is a major plus for me since I knew the original worked great for my skin. The magic serum feels great. It's milky and has a slight licorice scent. It's not bold and overpowering and if that's not your thing, the scent does dissipate once absorbed. The dropper is perfect for dispensing 2-3 drops. The serum works into my skin easily and absorbs quickly. This does make my skin feel softer and doesn't leave any hint of tackiness or residue feeling on my skin. Onto the Magic Water. This one made me so sad because I truly love everything about this moisturizer, however my skin didn't agree. This moisturizer doesn't feel quite as heavy as the magic cream, it works better under my makeup, and I love how moisturized and soft my skin felt while using it. Unfortunately, this one makes me breakout. Trust me, I really wanted it to be a sign of purging and gave it a shot way past my normal purging timeframe in hopes my skin would start to adapting, but no luck. Every skin type is different, so I did not deduct any stars for my personal skin issues, especially since I really loved this one overall. Price-wise this is a little pricier per oz than the full size versions, but less expensive to try skin products this way than buying the full size and finding out it's not working for your skin type, so I normally recommend purchasing sets like these for full trial runs before making the investment ... show more

  • Makes my skin so dewy and hydrated and plump! Makes my skin so dewy and hydrated and plump!
I didn’t want to love these because they are so expensive but unfortunately for my wallet they are sooooo nice and do actually work so well! Ugh- this means I will have to actually repurchase these once I run out. I have been using the serum both morning and night and the main magic cream in the morning and the water magic cream at night. I think we are supposed to do the opposite but I find the water cream to be actually slightly more moisturizing than the main cream- I think Becuase the main cream is a little silkier so I can put it on in a thinner layer whereas the water cream has a more gel kind of consistency which lets it be a little thicker and still soak in. Both creams are great but the water cream really gives sooo much hydration. In the picture of my cheek below I am wearing the serum under the water cream. I put on the main cream in a thin layer in the morning and then wait about 30 min and then do my makeup- and the cream works great under makeup and does not cause my foundation to separate or anything! The main cream soaks in well if you put a thin layer. The water cream gives me a bit of a shiny finish (see picture) I think it would still work under makeup but I haven’t tried it and have just been using it at night. I have only been using the serum/creams for a week but my skin just looks sooo hydrated and and feels so nice. I have quite sensitive skin- tons of masks cause me to get red and irritated and I generally have to be careful about what I put on my face. All 3 of these products have not caused any issues and are totally fine on my sensitive skin. I was really hoping that I would try these and decide they were not worth the high price, but unfortunately the opposite happened and I actually think they ARE worth it. I have dry/combination skin and these creams just help so much! ... show more
