It does work after much manipulating and discovered the cord that plugs into the wall was no good. Luckily we have the original Quest 3S plug that fits and made the whole thing work.

The unit looks good, and the lights are nice, however the design is flawed. If you touch any part of the unit EVERYTHING falls off of the specific areas. This is especially true with the controllers, very frustrating to have all of the controllers fall on the floor (and loud). Also, the ability to see if the items are charged is all but covered by the quest. This is not useful in a small space or if you want an uncluttered and easy to use docking station. I will be returning this item.

I have a third party headset. It absolutely does not work with the dock. I can adjust it to fit, but the balance is off. Not the quick and easy to set charger that I want, but it does work. I did think it was broken because at first it only charged the controllers. Now using the included wall adapter instead of just USB, it charges fine and gives me a place to store my Quest.

With the big sale of Meta Quest 3S' lately, it was a no brainer for my family so we could have a modern quest to go with our Quest 2 and do multi-player with the kids. I also wanted a more convinient way to do the charging, and the fact this provides a solution for the controller charging as well, I jumped on this and I'm glad I did. The charging "plate" itself is grooved to fit your 3S headset and the two controllers, while being plugged into the provided wall wart charger and USB-C cable to connect them. It also comes with two rechargeable batteries for the controllers AND replacement covers so that they can be charged wirelessly by laying them in their respective grooves in the plate. There's a weak magnet in the groove to help align them to their pogo pins in the grooves, but every once in awhile it takes a little more fineese to put them down properly so the pins line up. Provided you've got everything lined up with the controllers, 2 LED lights on the front will show their charging state (red = charging, blue = charged). The headset does NOT charge wirelessly, but must be plugged into the right-angle short USB-C cable that's wound and stored underneath the plate. There are cord grooves on the bottom so the plate stays flat to your horizontal surface/table and once the headset is plugged in, it too shows a charging light on the plate to show status. The colored LEDs around the permiter of the plate can be changed by a round button near the power port, pressing 1 time to change the color/pattern: cycling green, blue, red, violet, "breathing" blue, solid blue, off. These aren't tied in any way to the charging of the 3S and peripherals...a small miss in my opinion. When you want them off, either cycle through the colors/patterns until they turn off (or unplug it). Note the charging status of the peripherals (the small R/L controllers symbols and the one for the headset) don't turn off either as long as the plate is plugged in and the devices are in their spots. It's not obnoxiously bright status LEDs for these icons, but could be unwanted in a bedroom where you might want no light polution. I haven't had any issues with the controllers losing their charge early or at the very least before the headset did. I'll be sure and return to update this review if suddenly the life on these batteries they supply die prematurely (as these are custom rechargeables that line up with the pogo pins in the replacement covers--not sure how much a replacement would run if it died before the warranty was expired). All up: I love this thing.

(summary: charges great, doesn't take up space. Just beware that if you have a bulky head strap or big battery, it may not fit snug in the dock). Having a larger name brand version for our Quest2, I was concerned that the wrong thing was sent when this first arrived. As you can see from my photos of the versions side by side, this one is quite a bit smaller. It’s only about the size of a 8” paper plate. The controllers charge much like the competition, with your new rechargeable battery and special door replacing the stock versions and the user simply needing to lay them down in the correct spot to connect and charge. I have a habit of getting all set up and comfortable before realizing I need to swap batteries, so this set up is super convenient. Unfortunately, if you have a cover or skin on your controllers, they need to be removed to swap the batteries out. With the physical connection required from the controller to charger, my full silicone covers the connections. I haven't tried it yet, but the spots that connect are just two small dots so I may try punching round windows in the skin so the connections can still be made. If you like to set your headset directly into the port on dock, you may be disappointed. Rather than physically connecting the headset to the dock, a charging cord runs from the bottom that you plug into the side of your headset like you normally would. This ended up being fortunate for me because the bulky aftermarket head strap I use prevents it from sitting perfectly snug in the dock. The wiggle room provided by this connection makes it so the headset doesn’t have an exact spot it must stay in to charge correctly. Overall, I’m pleased with this. It was easy to set up and has worked well so far. I’m not surprised it doesn’t fit perfectly into the base as it took me awhile to find a case that fit. The charger works exactly as advertised and I really appreciate that I can still use it even with the bulky head strap.
