I expected an overpowering smell when opening the bag. Did not smell anything; they were fine. Put them into the washer and after the cycle I looked in and thought they had literally exploded; fibers everywhere and the large rug itself looked like it was turning itself inside-out! This isn't good, I thought, but kept plucking away the fibers, getting as much off as I could and found it was actually fine. Placed them into the dryer for only half an hour. Checked on them and MORE cotton fibers had loosened and were tumbling around the dryer drum floor. It was then that I hung them to dry; didn't want to risk a fire! The next day I went to check on them, they appeared fine. Put them into the dryer to fluff them, and have yet to have a problem with them since the initial wash. They are very absorbent. I do have a photo of the remnants that came off of these, but can not find them. Once I do, I will post them. ... show more

What can ya Says? A rug's a rug. They got the color right. The size was as described was right. My glass eye estimate was a bit off. For my application the big one could've been a little longer. Still, that's not the sellers problem. The online add says that they are washable + dryable. I'm not sure that they should be dry clean only. The burgundy bleeds quite a bit in the wash. In the dryer, they shed quite a bit. Hey, when life gives you burgundy lemons = make burgundy lemonade. I had a bunch of bleach burned burgundy towels and shirts = problem solved. The old shirts and towels didn't perfectly match the rugs or their original colors but the bleach burns filled in nicely. A blue hand towel came out purple - ya live ya learn. From the wad of fluff the winds up in the lint trap, they may completely disappear by Christmas. On the upside, they weren't terribly expensive + I have more red stuff that could use a little bleed. DO NOT BUY!!!! This is truly the worst item I have ever bought on Amazon. Or anyplace for that matter. I put them in the wash and my washer was filled with fabric. I then put them in the dryer and could have filled a pillowcase with all of the shedding. Not just a little lint. Clumps upon clumps of fabric. Thought it was all off after shaking them outside. Placed them on the bathroom floor. Bad idea. Stepping out of the shower with wet feet gets you nothing but more fabric stuck to you. They are now in the trash. So not even consider buying these.     • Shedding burgundy lint absolutely everywhere!!!!!

The color was fine and the rugs stayed in place until the first washing, after which they started sliding like they were on grease. As if that wasn't bad enough, my husband's 'sleeping' socks started turning pink on the bottom and, any time I put them in the dryer to get the dust and debris out of them, the lint screen in the dryer came out absolutely plastered in red lint. This morning I looked up at the bathroom vent fan cover and the vent cover was turning red! I guess we've been breathing that stuff in as well. Absolutely NOT pleased and would not recommend this item. My first review was only 2 stars, but now after a few months, too bad I can't give it a minus 5! ... show more

    • Mats shed like crazy!!

Like many other reviewers, my rugs shed terribly. When I stepped on the rug out of the shower the sole of my foot was covered in lint! When I washed them, my washer was coated in clumps like it had been shredded. And my dryer had to be seriously scrubbed to remove the red color the rugs left. I am returning all of them.     • Beautiful Bath Mats, but Disintegrate with Every Wash

These mats are beautiful in color, and look good in the bathroom; but they shed A LOT in the washer/dryer, and they temporarily discolored the inside of our dryer. When I opened the machine after the first two washes, the mats had shed so much, it was hard to believe there was any material still intact. It's rare that I take time to write a non-favorable review; but I wish I'd known this before making this purchase. Surprisingly the mats still look good after they're dry; but washing them is a chore! Buyer Beware. ... show more

The worst item I've ever purchased in the last 50 years!!! OMG!! Wash before use... dye, fibers lined the tub, no skid/rubber backing and once on the floor dye continues to stain the bathroom tile floor, it moves all over the floor. Ugh! Great bath mats. Was looking for bath mats and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Didn’t want the bath mats that had all that rubber on the back that usually cracks. These are washable and no rubber backside. They have a great look to them. Very happy with this purchase. Since the purchase of these bath mats I’ve washed them 2x and had no problems at all. I’ve read the other reviews and feel awful that they had such a bad experience. I always wash my bath mats by themselves and usually select the bulky cycle just in case.
