    • A Must See Great Time Movie!
I’m speechless!!! Funny, heart warming and very entertaining to watch the action. This also shows that anyone w/ a disability can have great abilities or can turn a disability into an ability; including acting! As a physically disabled person, I know what it’s like to be “knocked down” and judged for being different. Unfortunately, this kind of disability keeps me from enjoying or engaging much w/ the outside world. However, I do have the ability to enjoy movies & shows instead then talk about my take on them. Others can decide if it’s something they may enjoy watching. It’s not much but it’s my life now. However, I keep challenging myself because I don’t know what I can do unless I try & I’m not going to stop trying. Sure it’s scary stuff but it takes real courage even when afraid to overcome obstacles to set yourself free! This movie reminds us that EVERYONE deserves a chance at freedom from whatever it is they want to overcome to achieve their dreams. Never underestimate the WILL of the human spirit; even if they don’t fit inside society’s narrow minded, ignorant, perfectly wrapped box!!! We’re all flawed and all perfect at the same time. Isn’t anybody’s road any harder than anybody else’s, it’s just different. Perspective! Keep and open mind and open heart. If this movie doesn’t make your day, p!ss off! I enjoyed it a lot and representation for inclusion in even the entertainment industry is a great way to show the world they matter too!! Kudos for being able to get up there and act!     • Heartwarming, funny and soulful
The story arc is amazing! Woody Harrelson is so very human in this role; you can't help but love his character for all of his flaws and misguided pursuits. The entire supporting cast was incredible. I bet this was a riot to be on the set of as it was being filmed! I can't say enough about this movie. It's a must watch. Great for family time, too - as long as the kids are of a certain age to get the sexual innuendos and adult content through the lens of a just-hit-puberty, young adult but experiencing "all of the things," perspective. ... show more

One of the best films I've seen in a long time. An inspiring story about a coach who experiences a life change and new perspective from mentally challenged adults training for the basketball Special Olympics. The viewers will also experience a change in the way they view those who are challenged. One will leave with a better appreciation for the wisdom, understanding, and talent they contribute to the world. Wonderfully entertaining and full of touching humor. ... show more

    • Lackluster Sports Flick That Struggles to Engage and Inspire
When it comes to heartwarming sports films, titles like "Field of Dreams" and "Remember the Titans" spring to mind, while the hilarity of Johnny Knoxville's "The Ringer" adds a humorous twist to the genre. Regrettably, "Champions" couldn't captivate me in the same way. I had hoped to immerse myself in the movie, as with the aforementioned classics, but it fell short. The main character's story failed to engage me, and the lack of substantial backstories for the characters left me emotionally detached. The film was noticeably short on humor. Though there were a few instances that elicited mild amusement, they were not particularly memorable. Despite the exceptional acting, the characters were let down by subpar writing. Woody Harrelson gave a solid performance as the protagonist, Marcus, but the character lacked depth. The performers delivered outstanding work, showcasing their exceptional acting skills. This movie is a remake of the 2018 Spanish film "Campeones" and is inspired by true events. However, it's crucial to note the term "inspired." Films that claim to be "inspired by" often deviate significantly from the actual story, and perhaps the script is to blame here. The conclusion was underwhelming. I didn't experience the familiar sense of accomplishment that similar films evoke, but I acknowledge that the characters are champions within their own hearts. ... show more
