I decided on size L because I like a very comfy fit but I might have been able to wear a M if I liked my shorts very fitted. These short are pretty good. I wear them around the house. They’re a little tight around the waste and a little wide at the legs, for my preferences but fine for lounging or a quick errand. I don’t think they will hold their color well, as they aren’t super black after just a wash or two. But they are breathable cotton and nice for hanging or bedtime. I’ve been transitioning my wardrobe to more sustainable fabrics and trying to avoid polyester as much as possible. I was under the impression that the heather grey shorts were 100% cotton but it’s 90% cotton and 10% polyester. They’re really comfortable regardless but the description made it a little confusing on which color was 100%. The size was just right and the material is kind of thin, but I have found them to be perfect for the summer heat because of that. They don't show undies or anything and didn't shrink in the wash. I do heavy yard work in the too.

It’s like the picture. Material is breathable but kinda of paper-y feeling. Stretchy waistband. Good length. Good for around the house and going out.
