I RESEARCHED GENERATOR INVERTER BRANDS FOR A YEAR AND FOUND CHAMPION THE BEST FOR ME BECAUSE OF RELIABILITY IS # 1, FEATURES, REVIEW RATINGS AND PRICE ARE BETTER THAN OTHER BRANDS THAT I SAW. THIS THE FIRST GENERATOR INVERTER I HAVE EVER OWNED AND USED DURING POWER OUTAGES IN THE TRI COUNTY AREA OF DETROIT, MI. TRICKLE CHARGE THE BATTERY EVERY 2 WEEKS, THE MANUAL SAYS MONTHLY. I CHANGE THE OIL, FULL SYNTHETIC, AND SPARK PLUG YEARLY OR RECOMMENDED IN THE MANUAL MAINTENANCE LIST ACCORDING TO USEAGE. THE CHAMPION 9000, GENERATOR INVERTER POWERS MY ENTIRE HOME. IT EVEN RUNS MY CENTRAL A/C 2 ton, 8 YEAR OLD COMFORTMAKER FURNACE AND CENTRAL A/ C, 2 Refrigerators, stand up 18 ft.³ freezer, TVs and lights two new stoves / ovens. I do avoid doing laundry during a power outage, but that’s just me because the motors do draw amperage that some may be a little high. I MENTION 8 yr old SYSTEM BECAUSE NEWER GAS FURNACES AND AC IS MORE START UP FRIENDLY TO AN INVERTER, Because furnace motherboards in newer furnaces may be damaged by a generators only which is not an inverter because the THD is higher like 12 to 20%? THERE ARE DEVICES YOU CAN INSTALL ON AC SYSTEMS BY MICRO AIR TO REDUCE THE AMP MICRO SECOND START UP DRAW BY 60 to 75% TO START UP 3 to 5 ton SYSTEMS. MOST A\C SYSTEMS WILL START IT DEPENDS ON SIZE, AMP DRAW AND SOME OTHER FACTORS. ALWAYS USE A GENERATOR/INVERTER WITH THD RATING 3% OR LESS TO SAVE YOUR UNIVERSAL POWER SUPPLIES, U.P.S.,, ELECTRONICS LIKE COMPUTERS, SMART TVS, SOME REFRIGERATORS EVEN HAVE MOTHERBOARDS, MOTHERBOARDS IN FURNACE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS. THE CLEANER THE POWER THE LONGER THE LIFE OF YOUR ELECTRONICS. I USE A 50 amp INLET RECEPTACLE ON THE BACK OF MY HOME AND SAFETY SWITCH ON THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BOX. COMMENTS ON A ONE STAR RATING HERE, RETURN POLICY IF DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE. YOU MAY NEED A BATTERY, OR A CHARGE BUT IF NOT AND ITS DEFECTIVE GET YOUR MONEY REFUNDED AND KEEP THE UNIT, BECAUSE IT IS NOT RETURNABLE. Someone actually had a replacement generator inverter shipped to them because it was physically damaged and the new one was great and they kept the old one because they don’t accept returns so you get to keep it, use it for spare parts, maybe repair it or sell it.
