Description

The Champion Power Equipment 8500-Watt Inverter Generator with CO Shield is ultra-quiet and ideal for camping, tailgating, powering items around the RV or providing backup for your essentials. Champion’s EZ Start Dial makes getting started quick and easy. Featuring Cold Start Technology, Extended Run Time, and an easy to read fuel gauge, the reliable 420cc Champion engine produces 8500 starting watts and 7000 running watts, and runs for 14 hours at 25% load when the 5.3-gallon fuel tank is full. With a 1.2-quart oil capacity (included 10W-30) and a low oil shut-off sensor, this inverter operates at an ultra- quiet 61 dBA from 23 feet, which is about as loud as normal speech. The no tool access panel and oil drain tube allow for easy maintenance. Confidently connect your sensitive electronics since this inverter produces Clean Power (less than 3% THD). Our Quick Touch Panel offers fast access to all your controls. The Intelligauge monitors voltage, frequency and operating hours with ease, while Economy Mode monitors power consumption in real time to reduce engine wear and tear. As the electrical load is reduced, the inverter reduces engine speed, providing quieter operation, extended engine life and higher fuel economy. The covered outlets included are a 120/240V 30A locking outlet (L14-30R), two 120V 20A GFCI household duplex outlets (5-20R), a 12V automotive-style outlet, and includes an RV adapter plug plus a handy dual port USB adapter. Buy this EPA certified and CARB compliant inverter generator with confidence – Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back up your purchase with a 3-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support. CO Shield technology monitors the accumulation of carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas produced by engine exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield detects unsafe elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine. CO Shield is not a substitute for an indoor carbon monoxide alarm or for safe operation. DO NOT allow engine exhaust fumes to enter a confined area through windows, doors, vents or other openings. Generators must ALWAYS be used outdoors, far away from occupied buildings with engine exhaust pointed away from people and buildings. Meets the requirements of ANSI/PGMA G300-2018.

  • Quiet, Well Thought Out
Style: 8500-Watt + Gas + EZ Electric Start + CO
Received this investor/generator a couple weeks ago, well packaged and on an oversized pallet. It took maybe an hour to get it ready to start, including unpacking, putting on wheels and removing a couple of shipping bolts, adding oil and gas, and plugging in the battery cable. The instructions on the "quick start" sheet were pretty short on details but the instructions in the manual are much better. When I started it, I was amazed at how quiet it is - much quieter than my old 2300 watt Homelite. I've only run it for an hour to test it out but am pleased so far. I saw some complaints about the gas tank filler being small and problematic. But I found that if I simply lifted the strainer out of the neck, it left a hole plenty big for the funnel on my 5-gallon gas can, so I had no issues filling it. Time will tell how it performs but it certainly seems to have enough power to run my larger shop tools, one at a time anyway, which is all I've tested so far. ... show more

  • Quiet
Style: 8500-Watt + Dual Fuel + EZ Electric Star...
This is a great unit. Starts right up on propane and gas. It's very quiet, and the new power meter is nice as it shows the generator's load. Handles everything I can throw at it. Champion quality and support are top notch.

  • Good generator. Not that quiet under load. Bad fuel fill. - revised....junk junk junk
Style: 8500-Watt + Gas + EZ Electric Start + CO
After sitting on my porch under a cover for a month from last time it was started, went to use it today during a power outage. The generator runs high speed, surging...there is nothing on the display, its black, and there is no power from any receptacle. JUNK CHINESE ELECTRONICS. dont buy...dont buy...dont buy only has 5 hrs total on it. i wondered why they had these videos for parts replacement by user on youtube for a brand new generator...now you know. JUNK JUNK JUNK Champion is sending a new control unit for me to install.... But it will just be another cheap Chinese piece of junk that will fail in the future. Update: I replace the control unit, it's not quite as easy as the video shows. Cables and wires are secured which prevent the front cover from being as movable as the video shows. In addition champion uses the exact same connector on multiple wires .... Requiring you to pull back the looming and see what color wire it is to tell what to plug it into. There's no directions to do that. One plug is even apparently so crappy and failure prone that it is secured by a zip tie from the factory.. you have to cut that zip tie. And you need to have some way to secure it when you put it back together. In the end it appears to be working again with the new control unit.... But of course this should never happen on something with 5 hours of operation, and the customer should not have to spend an hour of their own time trying to figure out how to replace parts. Note that champion did not provide any directions to the online videos I just knew they were already there because I had stumbled across them. As far as sound you can expect 70 DB at 50% load and up at 23 ft. This is acceptable for a generator this size to be considered quiet in my opinion.... But it is more than other generators like the honda or power horse. The trade-off is that this generator is lighter than those. This generator is 216 lb the Honda is 256, and the power horse is 290. That's the first big plus ....this generator is considerably lighter. The second big plus is it is more powerful than the Honda eu7000 which is only rated at 5500 or the power horse 7500 which is only rated at 6500. The champion 10719 is rated at 7000 continuous. So it's more powerful and it's lighter but the trade-off is it's louder. This should make sense because the heavier generators weight is in sound deadening, they all have similar engines. The fuel fill is horrible on this generator. It has a small strainer with a red piece of plastic blocking it that tells you to stop filling here. Even feeling at a low rate this causes splashing to splash onto the top of the generator. The other major drawbacks, compared to the Honda and the power horse are lack of receptacles compared to the power horse, and it does not have wattage indication that the Honda and power horse both do. That is a glaring omission at the price they're asking which is basically the same as the power horse. Another plus is that the side panels do not require tools to remove or open. They are also completely removable they are not hinged . Personally I feel that the removable panel is better for Access for service, but the opening is also smaller as well. ... show more
