First off, you can buy two refurbished for a bit more than one new one. $120 vs $100. They sound killer. Get the sub. You’re gonna be happy. I suggest this model with the sub-they’re designed to match. The crossover between the Echo and the sub is seamless. Perfectly matched. No adjustment needed. The Alexa app is really well planned out. Plug the Echoes in, combine them to stereo, pick a room. Done. There’s been a ton of complaints about teo things. Random disconnects… if you’re like me, you might have 5 or 6 wifi devices in your room, with a wall or two between you and your router. It’s not a problem with the Echo-your router probably can’t handle the load. Check with your ISP for a newer model. With most of my gear on all over the place, even my ridiculously priced laptop runs at maybe half speed or less. Got a better router that could support 50 devices at once, problem solved. These run over wifi. I’ve only had a dropped connection problem once since i got them in February. Keep two of them a decent distance between, the seperation is amazing. ( side note-i don’t care what anybody tells you-don’t stick the sub behind something and right next to a wall. At least a foot away from a wall, and out in the open. The difference is really noticeable. I won’t bore you with details, look online. It absolutely needs that space) Yes, a lot of reviews say the Sonus sub is better. It’s also $750 USD. It’d better be an improvement. Get real. The issue with the Sonus is the variable crossover, so it’ll work with any speakers. But unless you’re a genius with a frequency meter, the Sonus sounds muddy, creeps up into the sat speaker range, basically killing off the low end. I only say this because i owned a setup. My decades old Pioneers sounded better. $1200 wasted. Returnef them. The big sellimg point? The Echo setup only goes down to 35hz. The Sonus goes down to 28hz. Makes zero difference. Nada. Not enough to justify the massive price difference. For what it’s worth, the subs in my main revording room go down to 18hz. At half the price, and are way more accurate. Anyway. Grab these while you can. Yes, the ball shape is “ugly”??? It’s round. The design is much better acoustically than the tall tubes. Way better. Are they gonna fill a good sized tv room? Not really, just not enough power, but in a smaller room, they’re perfect. Sorry about the long read. I’m a live “soundman”, been since’93. I have a good ear-i have to. It’s my income. Over more expensive setups, this is near the top of my list. Buy and enjoy!!

I have had great luck with the Amazon refurbished Echo units. This unit was in perfect condition and came up and operating on my Alexa network in a flash. The sound is the best I have from any of my Echo Dots or Echo Shows. The temperature sensor (a big reason I bought it) is very accurate and gives me peace of mind for monitoring the house temperature while we are away in the winter. Works great with my Amazon thermostat. Looking forward to using it with Zigby communication devices. Money well spent.

At $49 for a refurbed 4th gen Echo (latest) I couldn't pass this up. The audio quality is quite impressive considering the footprint, a truly nice addition for our kitchen and main family area. This came in mint condition and setup was basically plug and play, brilliant. Actually going to buy another as soon as I submit this review, really nice piece of equipment for the price, a solid level-up from our older dot's.

This is such a nice unit. I have the smaller ball and the disk type.. the echo ball sounds good, but this echo 4 ... dang can't say enough about it. And the built in HUB is fantabulous. I have never had a built in hub, so to eliminate two hubs I had, and connect through this echo 4 is so convenient. OK and now the price I only paid 39.99.. ★☆☆☆★

This is my first Echo device, and I bought it refurbished on Prime Day. The sound is REALLY robust. I've been moving it from room to room to see how it sounds and what kinds of things I can use it for. So far, I'm hooked. It sounds and looks great in my living room, bedroom, and bathroom. There is absolutely no sign that it was ever owned or repaired. It looks and functions like I would expect any brand new device to. I couldn't be happier.
