This is a miracle balm. Last year, I tripped over the stump of a hedge and fell face first, going downhill - really graceful to watch, lol. My face was scraped up to high heaven, so naturally I was worried about scars. I use the protective film bandages for larger scrapes, rather than bandaids, to keep the wound from drying out, contributing to scabbing/scarring. But I couldn’t use that due to the location of the cuts on my face. I was It occurred to me that I should try to keep the scrapes moist (blech, it’s a weird word - sorry!) so I hunted down the thickest healing ointment I could find. I first used a Neosporin gel for a day or two (the scrapes were very superficial thank goodness) and then used this product until I couldn’t tell where I needed to apply any, which only took about a week! I resisted the urge to brush away any lose scabbing and instead gently patted my face with a soaked washcloth each AM/PM. Eventually it came off on its own, as the new skin healed underneath. I also have my kids use this when they have colds and get the dreaded red friction marks from all the nose wiping. I have them slather it on and it really helps as a barrier. My skin broke out terribly and felt like I was burnt, particularly around my mouth. It was terribly painful. My regular face lotion wasn’t cutting it so I did my research about the best creams to calm irritated, painful skin on the face. This cream came up. When I first put it in on I was skeptical; it clearly states that the cream is non greasy. It appeared to have the same texture as an Aquaphor, which is very thick and greasy. I initially put too much on and had a blot it. A little goes a long way, and it actually rubbed completely in and absorbed nicely. The couple times I knew to restrain myself a bit.
