This dude is an amazing sparring partner. You can punch, slap, kick, and you can even practice groin hits. The addition of the arms adds a certain amount of realism too! My kid did t know I had purchased “Bob”, and it scared the crap out of him when he went into the garage. Very realistic, and an excellent t training tool. I highly recommend getting one. My only “beef” was how difficult it was to zip the upper half into the lower half during assembly. It’s real tight. I probably should’ve had someone else help me, but I eventually got it. Oh… you’ll also need to buy a 60 lbs bag of dried sand. It’s not included. (Needed for the base counterbalance) ... show more

I’m glad I got this one instead of just another straight forward punching bag again. The shape makes some of the punches a lot more realistic and my form has improved with the angles of approach.

First the pros: BOB is fully adjustable to whatever height you’re comfortable with. Outer material is strong and soft. You can work it for 10 minutes straight without tearing up your skin (important when you get older). Now for the cons: you have to slide the body over the plastic unit and bolt it. The fit is so tight (which is good) that it’s a real struggle to get it on, then trying to find the hole for the bolt to mount it. Next, once you start throwing feet or knees into it the base doesn’t hold enough water to keep it from moving around. Finally, the price. It’s expensive but overall I’m happy I bought it and use it every morning. ... show more

A little tough to practice hooks because the arms get in my way, but that is its own challenge, and I can always turn BOB around and hook from the back. My balance has improved with home access to BOB and my workouts are more fun. I think a friend has decided he needs one too.

Wish I had bought this a lot earlier. Kinda wish I had the bob XL at this point, but whatever. This thing is so awesome for increasing technique and accuracy. Only thing is I'm somewhat worried about how long it'll stand up to me. The head seems flimsier already from a few weeks of use, so I hope it lasts. I'd recommend the XL though if you're going to be kicking. Because sometimes I just miss, and I wish there were a way to practice low kicks on the dummy being normal height. So I'm neglecting my low kicks. Still, very awesome. Also filled with sand, I haven't knocked it over once. All the weight is at the bottom, so it's pretty hard to knock it down accidentally. Plus the head just bends, so yeah. I don't think knocking it over is a problem for anyone who isn't an elite heavyweight or something. ... show more
