  • Quality for price
Size: 4/4 Style: CVN-500
It plays clear and loud. Not perfect, but new strings made a huge difference. Great for beginners, or people like me who took a 20 year hiatus. If you are on a budget and aren't a paid performer I highly recommend.

  • Best 200 bucks I've ever spent
Size: 4/4 Style: CVN-500
I'm not including a picture because it came very similar to what is described in the profile pictures. Overall very symmetrical and the varnish looks great (mine is Matt, not glossy) so i'm impressed. I took off the 3 fine tuners and it can pass as something more expensive, except that the f-holes are not perfectly cut though mostly symmetrical hahaha but it's 200 dollars!! Two peice back. Soundpost is nice and correct. One peg didn't like to hold on, so i had to rewind the whole thing and it's good now. The bow is just ok quality. 2 hairs on one of the bows are a little looser than the others. One bow is almost completely straight the other is noticably curved near the tip that's still not too bad. The bridge was cut on point and came set up steady. After tuning, all string angles check out. Upon closer inspection, I found 2 small saw dust peices stuck in the varnish on the side at one spot, and some more in the curves of the scroll, a tiny chip on the rim barely visible, and a tiny bit of hair stuck in the varnish on the scroll lolololollolol (varnish brush hair most likely as it looks brittle and synthetic.) Chin rest is low which is the way I like it. Oh right! The shoulder rest is uselessly small!! Buy a regular shoulder rest that's less than 20 bucks 🤣🤣. Rosin looks cheap but a good rosin is less than10 bucks so who cares! Tuner is not HD, but there are so many free tuner options online nowadays I'm surprised they even included an average tuner in the outfit. Ok, how does it sound?? Very good! It doesn't sound like a 2000 dollar violin, but it compares with a 500 dollar violin at a shop easily. You really don't have to change the strings I think. The feel of the strings are very good. As it ages it might get better but who cares it's already very good for a 200 dollar violin. I've only had it for 6 hours. I'll update in a couple of days if there are major problems. I'm really lucky I got a good one so happy with it. I watched a violin sweatshop video by Stenor on YouTube and I encourage you guys to find that and watch it. They might be helpful in adjusting your expectations with these mass produced violins. I am really impressed, because it looks like it takes a couple of days to make one violin at the factory, but it takes months to years for a luthier to make a fine instrument all by him/herself. This violin got the most important engineering parts right, and it's understandable that someone didn't spend hours/day doing the paint job, especially at the scroll, nor cutting the perfect F-holes 😆😆 All things considered, I highly recommend this for a beginner violinist. However, do take it to a teacher or a luthier who knows what they are doing for the fine adjustments! Before you go, check out the video on YouTube by KevinLeeLuthier. The guy is a little goofy/dramatic, but he is a master luthier afterall. He is so passionate and gives out detailed specs on the instrument i really enjoy all his videos so glad i discovered him! Happy day today 😊😁 ... show more

  • It’s a good violin but everything else will need to be upgraded eventually
Size: 4/4 Style: CVN-600
The media could not be loaded. I had a hard time knowing what the CVN 600 looked like and if it was worth buying after so many reviews saying different stuff. I took a chance and got it and now I want to help you guys out who might want to buy it! Watch the video and pictures! So besides what I say in the video here are some other things: After a couple more days i can see suuuuper tiny scratches and almost like small dust particles tucked right in the crevices and so I’m glad I have some violin cleaner and string cleaner which fixes the problem. Great violin but the bows/rosin/bridge should be replaced, especially the rosin and I’d say bridge. You’ll be fine with the bow for a while but they are going to limit what this violin has to offer. The strings are not something I would change directly. I’m going to have them on for a few months before I would change strings anyways so that’s good! A negative thing about the case is that the bows barely fit in it. they lay from side to side very tightly and you need to put it in exactly at the same spot and you cannot choose what way the bows fit in the case. But otherwise the case is very nice for the price and I’d recommend this violin it’s super for the price but the “kit” is not the bests and should be replaced. So even though the rosin, bow, bridge and strings aren’t the best so just buying the CVN 600 for just the violin is worth it but expect to need to upgrade the other things after a while and really change the rosin at least!! But the violin is really good for the price, even if it were just a violin in the case I’d buy it because the other things I expected to need to change anyways. I’m really just a buyer who wants to help out so this is super super honest. I will update if there’s any changes and stuff! Also The pegs are not to hard to tune with but not the best either so I’m glad for having the fine tuners in the beginning when the violin goes out of tune every day because of the new strings and stuff. But I don’t think there will be a problem taking the fine tuners out later on and only using the pegs! Hope this is helpful! Im also from Sweden so my English might be bad so I apologize for that! A bonus if that It only took 3 work days until I got it (with the weekend it took 4 and a half days in total). It came in a simple cardboard package which is risky but it arrived safe and sound for me. Would just think that might not always end up okey so yea. Oh and the bridge was actually installed!! So everything came pretty much set up to play, just need to tune it and rosin the bow(s) (Summary: You get an extra bridge and it comes pre installed. The rosin is just meh so just don’t even use it buy a better one from the start. The violin itself looks good, some minor scratches but it’s really good for the price!. Bow Is ok (i will end up buying new ones.) Bows barely fit in the case though. The whole top of the case is a big pocket so it fits sheet music and books but its really thin so don’t put anything too fradgile in there. And so Everything they said would be included was included and you also get a microfibre cloth to clean the violin which is nice. Overall I would say the violin is good and everything except for the rosin is ok to start with and then just upgrade later on!) ... show more
