- Why does stainless steel have magnetism? When 304/316 stainless steel is cold - processed, its microstructure turns into martensite. The more the cold - processing deformation, the more martensite forms and the stronger the magnetism. A straight stainless - steel support has no obvious magnetism. In spite of my first, glowing review, which follows, I will probably be returning this bottle. Someone who is smarter than I am said in his review, which I read after I received and used the bottle, that the top and bottom are not stainless steel because a magnet doesn't stick to them. The seller maintains that they are. Do magnets lie? I still love this bottle! If anyone can explain away the magnet test of top and bottom, I would love to keep it. My first review: This little bottle that fits in the zipped side pocket of a backpack replaced the bright yellow-green Nalgene bottle I've used for years. It holds 16 oz. of water. The handle helps me open it without too much stress on my arthritis. It is so cute! It is not insulated, which is a plus for me. If it were insulated, it would be larger, and heavier. It serves me perfectly just the way it is. I love this compact little bottle--it's so cute, and functional for my busy lifestyle, which includes lots of flying. It's so adorable!!!♥️

I needed a small water bottle (15oz) for one of my daypacks, it fits perfectly when other bottles were too big for the side pockets. it Doesn't leak, it smells the way SS bottles smell, the the lid ring is sturdy and tight and does not flop around. The only tiny nit-pic I had was the lid is a little noisy with metal on metal sound when threading it on, but after I clean inside the threads a little bit it is much better now.

This bottle is almost exactly what I've been looking for. The size and capacity are good, thanks to it not being insulated. It has a nice big mouth and the lid fits well. However, it has a major flaw: It's leaky. But the leaking isn't what you might think. The lid closes and seals fine. However, the handle goes into holes in the top of the lid that doesn't go into the main part of the bottle. Water gets into these holes and the cap holds the water. But if the water can get in, it can also get out, so it leaks back out at the handle. It seems like it's leaking your beverage, but it's actually leaking water from inside the cap itself. I can't find a version of this bottle that doesn't have this handle. I'd love to just have the cap. There are bottles out there that are designed in this way, but they are insulated, double walled, have extra bits like rubber or silicone, etc, which all push the price up. I plan to pull the handles off and seal the holes if I can. Because it has this annoyance, resulting in confusion over whether it's sealing or not (as seen in other reviews), and modification is required to fix this, I can't recommend it. The poorly designed cap kills it, basically.

I love this thing. Fits perfectly into a molle 2 insulated Nalgene carrier. Add magnetics to make a gym bottle carrier. Do recommend running it through the dish washer before use. Mine carried the smell of bleach/chlorine until i did so, but thats also due to my water supply.

Kind of get what you pay for. You need to be very careful when screwing the top on to make it as level as possible. But it never actually tightens on straight. You just need to get it as level as possible and tighten it down very hard so it doesn’t leak. And then it s not easy at all to loosen once you do.
