Could set up my Carplay display directly over my built-in car radio, making it look like a newer vehicle with the screen right where it normally would be - with the added safety benefit of not blocking any of my windshield by having the screen mounted on the dash. Yes absolutely get one. It secures into the CD player slot so your portable screen is not blocking your view and it kinda looks OEM to be honest. Plus you can angle the screen with the adjustable arm. I have but been happier in fact I recommended this to a friend for his wife’s car and she loves it. It’s sturdy and keeps your screen securely in place no vibrations or wondering if it is going to fall off especially during the hot summer days no worries of a suction cup melting to the dash or your windshield. My wife has a 2015 Subaru Forester that was her first car and she loves and refuses to get rid of, and I keep dumping money into to keep it running. One of the drawbacks of such an old car is how expensive it is to install a modern double DIN Apple carplay head unit. The head unit themselves are fairly inexpensive. It's the wiring harnesses that you need to make sure the steering wheel buttons work with the head unit, and the backup camera. I found this Apple carplay USB head unit thing. You basically plug it into the audio cable inlet of her car, and find a place to put the screen. It worked great until we had kids, and she wanted a child camera for the backseat. But he didn't want the camera, and that screen blocking up her entire windshield at this point. I saw this on Amazon, it just sits in the CD player, and you spin the bottom until it tightens up. And then the screen mounts to it. It works perfectly. My girl is very happy with it, and I didn't have to spend $1,000 on a brand new Apple carplay head unit. ... show more

I never write reviews—but I had to for this. I was really excited to try this out in my 2016 Corolla and held onto it for about 2 months. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. Here’s my breakdown: 1. Suction Cup – 1/5 stars If you live somewhere hot (like I do in Texas), be warned. Every 2–3 days, I’d find it on the floor of my passenger seat. It just doesn’t hold up well in the heat. 2. Aux Connection – 1/5 stars The aux cable would frequently glitch while playing music. It reminded me of those old wired headphones where you have to keep adjusting the wire just to get clear sound. 3. Bluetooth Sound – 2/5 stars The Bluetooth connection worked, but the sound quality felt distant and hollow—just not great for music. That’s why I ended up getting a cable instead. 4. Purchased separately a USB-A to USB-C Cable – 4/5 stars This worked much better for playing music. Sound was noticeably clearer and more reliable. But the downside I had to purchase a second item to help this work better. Overall Experience – 3/5 stars I gave it a fair shot and used it quite a bit over two months. While it didn’t live up to my hopes, I appreciated the refund offer. That gesture alone is worth mentioning. ... show more
