This gel moisturizer is light with a pleasant fresh scent. It absorbs into the skin pretty quickly and keeps the skin hydrated. This gel contains hyaluronic acid and squalene, which lock in moisture, reduce fine lines and redness/inflammation. It’s great for people with oily skin. This moisturizer is light and doesn’t leave behind much of a residue on the skin. It adds moisture without feeling heavy or blocking pores. The only thing that I don’t like about it is the scent. It’s very heavy and I absolutely would not recommend this moisturizer to those with scent sensitivities. The consistency of this moisturizing gel is somewhat of a cross between a true gel and a cream. It’s thick enough to feel substantial, but not so thick as to feel heavy. It’s easy to spread across the skin and soaks in relatively quickly. However, the scent does not fade as the moisturizer is absorbed. It tends to linger for quite a while after application. In terms of actual moisturizing, it’s hard to measure, but I feel that this product adds a nice light moisture that would be appropriate for mild climates, but won’t be quite moisturizing enough for cold weather climates. As the season is changing to fall, I’ll likely be zoning this out for something a little thicker and more protective during the night, but I may continue using this during the day. Overall, for the current price of $42 for 50ml, this is a very expensive moisturizer that works well, but has a very strong scent. I would only recommend it to those that do not have any sort of sensitivity to strong smells. ... show more

Pros: lightweight moisturizer that actually moisturizes without any greasiness. Doesn’t clog pores. I have oily acne prone skin and this applies well to the skin without adding to the oil issue but addressing the dryness. Cons: the scent isn’t bad, but it has a fragrant smell to it. The Caudalie Vinosource-Hydra Grape Water Gel Moisturizer has both grape water + added fragrance. The scent, unfortunately, is intense but does not linger. The gel moisturizer itself is perfect for my combo skin type. My oily-ish T-zone is hydrated enough not to be slippery or greasy looking and my parched cheeks get a little love too without any sort of shine or weight. I get an overall balanced semi-matte finish AM and PM. I take freshly washed fingers and dole out about a nickel-sized amount from the jar, spread evenly over my face and neck. It melts right into the skin without any stinging, sensitivity, flares, congestion/new breakouts. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the performance and general use. Don't like the smell, but not enough to stop using it. If you have dry skin, I'd recommend using something that isn't a "gel" but more emollient or creamy. ... show more

I do enjoy that this moisturizer is not greasy on the skin and sinks in fast without leaving behind a tacky finish. It is certainly a lightweight moisturizer and is not quite moisturizing enough for my dry skin on a daily basis. I love the consistency of the gel cream, but I will probably only be able to use this on very hot days or when my skin is feeling a bit oily. The only problem I have with this cream is the scent. It’s not my favorite. I won’t be reaching for this every day, but I’ll keep it in my stash for those days when I prefer a lighter moisturizer. ... show more

I'm a big fan of gel moisturizers already, so this is a fantastic product to me almost right out the gate. I love using a gel as a FIRST moisturizer underneath a creme moisturizer at night for a double dose of hydration and age-fighting effects, and this particular hydra-grape gel is awesome for that use. It absorbs very quickly leaving just a light veil on the face, and the scent - oh my gosh! It's wonderful!!! I know, I know, a lot of people don't care for fragrance in skin care but I'm not one of those people. I love stuff that smells lovely as I drift off to sleep.... Texture is, well, a gel and goes on crisp and cool. It's quite soothing and I noticed in the morning my skin often is much more plump when I use a gel moisturizer underneath the creme.
