I was pleasantly surprised at the quality! I have had this desk for several months, and I LOVE it. It provides a large work area, even with the shelf along the back of it. I didn't know what to expect for a cheap desk but for the money I would recommend. There was a little damage on the sides as you can see in one of the pics, but it's minor. It's in the same spot on both sides so they may want to package that part a little better. The other side is a little worse but it's against the wall so I don't care. Top drawer above my knees does catch a little on the desk top, but probably because it wasn't put together perfectly square. For the price, I would recommend. Seller did message me prior to shipping as well stating if any thing was broke to let them know. I'm sure they'd make it right. ... show more

Overall it’s an ok desk, but there’s a few things they could have done better. The build took me a good four hours and I’m no dummy at putting things together. I don’t think there’s a way around that. My main complaints are the assembly manual is downright wrong in some areas. For one, it misidentifies part numbers, so you have to kind of guess what they really meant. Not good; points to sloppy engineering. Also, some of the wood screws strip out the fiberboard material so they have no holding power. They should use longer screws as there’s plenty of room for that. Finally, as far as complaints go, there were slightly damaged edges on some of the boards. Better packaging could avoid that. On the positive side, the final product works, and looks acceptably nice. I would recommend it, but with the afore mentioned caveats. ... show more

    • CANNOT GET THE MISERABLE THING PUT TOGETHER.

I give one star because at the moment I cannot get the thing put together. On the Amazon site (I think it was I looked so many places) it said there was a video showing assembly instructions. If there is, I can't find it. I even looked on the seller's 'store' page. My problem is that the printed booklet instructions are truly awful and hard to read. It doesn't help that #6 and #9 in the pieces list aren't clear -- the sticker on two pieces say 9/6. Only one has a line underneath -- which would be fine if the line was UNDER either but the one with the line seems to be ON TOP of the 6 or on top of the 9. Does that mean the same thing? Because if that number is a nine, the line is OVER it as well. I've never see a nine with the line on top either, so which is really which? I finally took a wild guess and it seems to be working. Also the illustrations of the drawer slides are so small, I am having a hard time telling which of the dozen holes I'm supposed to screw in. I really don't want to get this thing completely put together (to the best of my abilities making guesses) and then find out that it doesn't fit together correctly. I have already had to reposition three of the drawer slides already because I put the screws in the wrong hole. I NEED HELP. This BLEEP desk is in pieces all over my living and dining room and I cannot get anyone to help me. JUST TELL ME, IS THERE A VIDEO OR NOT? I've searched Youtube, no luck. And while I'm at it, the veneer of the desk crumbles and flakes very easily. I am keeping a black magic marker at hand so that every time one little piece falls off, I just color it in. If I thought there was any chance of getting it back in the box, I'd return it. But then I'd have to find someone one with a truck to help me get back to UPS or wherever I'd have to take it send it back. I'm thinking I should have picked a much more simple desk, but I let myself decide to spend a little more for what looked like a much nicer desk with more features. ... show more

I spent about 5 hours from unboxing to finishing this. First of all it was packaged well and no damage. I'm 69 and worked on this by myself. The instructions were very clear, and all pieces were marked. There are many pieces. I unloaded all the parts in my garage to make clean-up easier. I then brought the parts into my office to assemble. I rather enjoyed putting it together. They say it's easier with two people, and I'm sure it is, but I had no problem doing it myself, including moving the completed desk to where I wanted it. There were no missing parts. I was impressed with the detailed instructions. A step at a time, and it's a piece of cake. This is not a high-quality piece of furniture, hence the price, but when all was said and done, it is sturdy! I had no issues with the drawers. They aligned perfectly. I did chip a piece of the finish off tightening a cam. Be careful inserting the hardware. I used an electric screwdriver as I have arthritis in my hands. Just easier for me.     • Great overall, but smallish drawers

My wife wanted a desk, but on the smaller side. She wanted to use it for a place to have her laptop, as well as a place to do bills, etc. We found this and she really liked how it looked, and the dimensions made it perfect for the little spot we picked out for it. Assembly was fairly easy. Pretty much no different than any other piece of furniture you order online anymore. The desk is sturdy and provides exactly what she wanted. It has drawers to hold her stapler, paper clips, pens, etc., and even has a filing drawer in it. The only complaint she has had about it is that the drawers are a little on the thin and small side. They don’t hold a lot, but at least they do hold some stuff. The file drawer won’t hold years worth of records or anything, but if you want to use it for monthly bills and then move last months stuff to a file cabinet, this is the perfect use for that type of system. Overall a great desk that looks really good and is plenty sturdy. Just be warned of the smallish drawers. They still work, i just with they could be a little bigger. ... show more

This piece is hard to rate. It went together fairly easily. Some of the pieces chipped easily when inserting the screws or putting together the pieces. These ended up to all be in places that aren't seen in the finished desk. The top, fronts of drawers seem a sturdier wood than other pieces that chip easily. The drawers look nice and function well, but are small and don't seem like they will support the weight. Think pencils. The file drawer especially, would hold many files but I doubt it will take the weight of them. Scared to put in what would fit. The light wood has a slight grey tint to the color. I'm hoping it lasts, but I have my doubts. ... show more

The directions had some incorrect views, and there were a few points that weren’t even mentioned, especially putting the top of the desk on! But overall, the desk is very nice and heavy – – looks good in the office that we placed it. Definitely proud of ourselves for being able to figure it out!
