The main reason for buying this was to improve visibility at night. The glow in the dark feature definitely helps with this, and as someone who has extremely blurry vision without glasses, I appreciate this feature. The case seems very sturdy, and over the course of ~3 months since purchasing it, I have dropped my phone a few times without damage to either the case, or the phone. It's not at the level of an Otterbox Defender, but it's also not as thick as an abridged version of War and Peace. The case is convenient and slides in and out of pockets with ease. There are holes on all four corners of the case which allow for a basic camera strap (the strap comes with the case) to be added for ease of carrying. This is not something that I would typically use, but when I go hiking, I can see using it on a clip to ensure I do not lose the phone. Charging on a magnetic style charger is also doable. It takes a little finesse, but it works. I am not sure if the charge rate is impeded by the case or not, but the charge rate does take a bit. When I set it on the charge pad at night, it's fully charged by morning though, so that works for my needs. The only negative is that it's a little slick; however, there is some texture on the green edge that aids with grip. It's not enough of an issue though for me to not enjoy this purchase. So would I buy this case again? Yep. I actually get compliments on this case for its uniqueness, and although it's bright green in color, it's not garish. The case is a quality product. Update: The round knob for the silence button broke off within a year of owning the case. I love the case, but it would go down to four stars because of this. ... show more

This case was highly reviewed by “Mobile Reviews Eh” on YouTube for the iPhone 12 and figured the design wouldn’t change much and still be a good case for the 13. I trust that guy because he buys a ton of cases and tests them all out in real world use and makes a video of his findings. I’m a picky person and I like this case! I like the simple design and tight fit and hard materials used (not soft, pliable TPU). It’s hard to tell the quality of all these cases on Amazon because the product photos look so similar, which is why it's helpful to read and watch reviews! I like the little mute switch knob. Very interesting and functional design. The case is thin but still protective. I was worried the back would be slick but it’s not in my opinion. I just wanted a simple case that looks good and works to protect the phone and I’m very satisfied with this one. Oh, and the buttons feel especially good in terms of the click feel but also have a texture to them that makes them easy to find. The sides of the case also have a slight cat-tongue feel for grip, although I don’t see a texture to it with my eyes, which is interesting. Overall, I like it. The opaque finish on the back doesn’t show fingerprints much at all. I have my black (“midnight”) iPhone 13 mini in the black case with a somewhat black tint to the clear part, and the silver Apple logo shows somewhat on the back and otherwise it just looks black on back. ... show more

    • Great Quality Case with Excellent MagSafe Support and No Fingerprints!
This is the second case I've bought from the brand and it came out very good like the first one. I really like the quality and how it feels but especially how you don't notice the fingerprints on the back and the MagSafe compatibility is very good, it protects the charge very well that way. As a 10-year otter box defender loyalist, I did a lot of research before branching out to another brand. A lot. Like way more than any rationale, decisive person would. And I ended up w catalyst. I came for the lanyard, and stayed for the front facing speaker holes. This case is everything I dreamed it would be and more. It looks fantastic on my silver iPhone pro max. It has a very mild texture (like the edge of a dime but much finer) on the edges that has the perfect amount of no-slide grip. The buttons and silent mode wheel all work very easily. I was hesitant about the glow in the dark. I was a little salty that it didn’t come in hot pink but OMG the glow in the dark blew my expectations out of the water. The color is amazing in sunlight - so neon it looks like it’s glowing. In low light it’s just meh lime green. And then it glows in the dark. It’s mild sometimes and more drastic sometimes but every time it makes me feel like a 6 yr old who needs to build a fort and play w plastic dinosaur models I’m so freaking giddy happy that it’s glowing. I’m sure part of the improvement in sound is that I upgraded from an iPhone 6 to a 13 but the front speaker holes work great. I actually keep my volume on about 1/2 power and love being able to rest the bottom of the case on sometime without it muffling the sound. No more annoying hand cupping even on full volume. It was super easy to pop on but is on securely. It won’t slip out when dangling from the lanyard. I put a spigen glass screen protector on it and it seems to fit fine. Catalyst says just don’t use a screen protector that goes all the way to the metal edge - there needs to be a small gap. The back is smooth but not completely without texture. I put a love handle on it but it’s perfect for a pop socket if that’s your preference. It’s slim and even w the lanyard goes in and out of bags and pockets easily (not that any of my clothes have pockets.. hence the lanyard.) Drop protection claims are good but I amazingly haven’t dropped it yet to test that (maybe because of the lanyard!? I usually drop my phone at least once a day!) The only possible negative is the power port is open so it might get dirty. I find power port covers annoying but necessary. I also wish they made a lens cover that I know will be compatible, but it seems many other brands should work with it, I just haven’t tried it yet. Pro tip! - put the lanyard in the bottom corner. Lay the lanyard up across your palm and over your pointer finger and down the back of your hand and loop the end over your pinky (or another finger if you have big hands) then let the lanyard hold the weight of the phone while it rests in your palm. Gives your hand a great easy rest from having to hold onto the phone or pop socket/love handle. Overall seriously, this case makes me so happy. OK, so update about 6 months in. I still love the case and it's functionality. The bad though: The lanyard broke and isn't covered under warranty and they don't sell black ones on their website. Of course, you can replace with any lanyard. I complained and Catalyst customer service was great in a "one time exception" to the warranty. The other BIG downside... the green discolors to a gross brown over time. It still glows great. But in the light it looks filthy. This is mostly in the high contact areas, but it's not dirty, it's discolored. I even scraped away a little of the top layer w a knife to see if it was just dirty, and it's not. (excuse the photo of the screen of my camera. I don't have another way to take a photo of my phone at the moment! On the plus side, things stick great to the smooth back! My love handle grip hasn't budged and my stickers adhere nicely and peel off clean when they're worn out and need to be replaced.) ONE YEAR UPDATE: (last photo is almost exactly 1 year later) I still love this case and the feel and functionality, but as you can see the glow green didn’t last. It’s not dirty. It’s discolored. The first browning photo is 6 months in and the last photo is 1 year in. And last week the volume dial broke. I finally today switched over to the new case customer service sent me 6 months ago when my lanyard broke. I do love the bright glow green, but I know it’s going to turn brown again in a few to several months. Probably from UV exposure? In a year I will probably buy the hot pink one and see how that goes instead. ... show more
