  • If you have a habit of leaving your phone in the goat house, wish to charm the older folk, or want..
If you have a habit of leaving your phone in the goat house, wish to charm the older folk, or want another device to play your favorite 2006 gba game Mother 3 this gorgeous brick is for you. Yes, this cockin' peice of equipment truly has it all. I lost my last phone in the chaos of treating my dear nubian goat 'Sweetie' for scours, not sure wether i left it outside or it fell into a pile of the liquds that were pouring from her rear. But either way it was gone, and honestly wouldn't have lasted much longer either way, ive never had my phones stay alive on me more than a year. But this gorgeous thing is so rugged and heavy that it makes my hardened toll hands look petite. I could use the screen to stir the milk into my piping hot cup of Yorkshire tea, while video calling my good buddy many miles away in England, and the thing would find it enriching. Every old person thats seen it so far has fallen in love and wished it to be their own. and whipping it out in a crowd of pretentious people who brag about their new apple ipod225egad+ is truly satisfying. They can laugh at it if they wish, but they will never know the joy of simple joy of sitting outside in the grass for hours and thinking of things that make you happy. All they know is scrolling that certain horrid app at the tiniest trickle of boredom and using ai to write their essays, further destroying their ability to think and use their brains. I was a bit worried about the complications of getting service to it and wether it was truly unlocked because it seemed some people had troubles with it, but I was able to do it easily without hassle. The programmable button on the side is immensely handy, i set it to turn on my flashlight which speaking of is very bright. The camera and microphone quality really isn't half bad, actually better than my previous phone, ill attach a few photos taken with it. You cant do professional photography with it but it does its job. I did see a few complaning about short battery life but I haven't been bothered by that at all yet. It might drain quickly if your spending hours on it scrolling, but if thats what your doing with it, its not really the phone for you, It lasts me multiple days with light use. And it can emulate Mother 3!!! And you can use the physical buttons as the controller instead of having crap ones on the screen!?! This phone is truly a work of art. it might not be for everyone but it was exactly what I needed in a phone, I highly recommend it. Edit: after a good run of 4 months I have already very tragically lost my gorgeous beloved phone, it did not break, and I guarantee it is still functioning wherever it is. I simply accidentally dropped it in the woods somewhere while taking my previously mentioned Sweetie for a walk, but It served me incredibly well in that time, when I someday get another phone, it will be for sure one of these. After my time with it I could never use another. It was nice having people have the ability to call me but for now it might be best to go back to my phoneless ways, until we meet again cat s22 my love. ... show more

  • I love it
The best phone I have had. I recommend downloading something like RethinkDNS to block the bloatware on the device. It works best de-googled. The battery is weak, but it's also cheap, so you can buy more than one. They make a battery charger for it too, that you can get on eBay. This phone is no longer receiving updates, so it will be up to you to keep your phone secure. Some kind of antivirus, and other security measures will be needed(your choice, but I recommend one that scans your files.) Also, be aware that some antivirus apps track you heavily. Exodus privacy will tell you the amount of trackers(the aurora store has this built in). Btw, I have tried LineageOS 18 and 20 on this phone. I got everything to work except incoming calls :/ so I wiped the phone and reinstalled the original OS. The phone is still very nice with the original OS after blocking the bloatware. ... show more

  • Phones Basic Functionalities do not work
This phone had many problems which caused me to write a negative review. Keep in mind that a lot of my problems described could be that the phone uses android 11, which has been out of life since 2024. However I believe if a phone is still purchasable brand new then it should be expected to work. A large hardware issue for me is that as soon as I started to use the phone the 3,6, and 9 t9 buttons would get double clicked when I would press the key once. Sometimes even 3 clicks for every single press. This makes it almost impossible to use the physical buttons on the phone for typing. My phone was also not able to pick up group message texts. For context I switched from a IPhone Xs to this flip phone. I tried changing the RCS and MMS settings on the phone. I also tried unsubscribing from IMessage on my Iphone. Lastly I tried to recreate new group chats under my google account which also failed to pick up any messages from users in the group chats I created. A software/ hardware issue I ran into was with the speaker. sometimes during the day the audio would stop working on the phone, despite changing multiple volume options. The only way to fix this was for me to restart the phone. On average I was restarting my phone at least 3 times a day to deal with the speakers giving out. I intentionally bought this phone so I wouldn't spend so much time on it. I know downgrading from a IPhone to a flip phone would be a difficult transition however I had so many problems with basic phone functionalities that I need to return this. ... show more

  • Good phone, missing good t9 typing, but highly customizable otherwise
Well built phone! No technical problems just lacking some features that I would appreciate and took some getting used to. I previously had a Sunbeam F1 Pro Aspen flip phone. I loved that phone, it was simple, well designed, cute, etc. But after a year, the camera and the touchscreen stopped working and that made it harder to use. I got this phone because the price seemed fine and I’ve heard good things. But I also heard some bad things including: double typing letters, heating up, slow. Honestly I haven’t had those problems! The battery life is great, function is great, easy to use with some modifications. I installed O launcher to make it more minimalist but I can use apps I like such as YouTube music and google maps. My main complaint is that I can’t use the keypad to type!!! I loved T9 predictive text, I hate that I can’t do that easily on this phone. I tried installing apps to let me do it but they were clunky and didnt have a way to use !?:() and emojis… So I deal with the touchscreen keyboard which thankfully has swiping text and voice text. I installed google keyboard to make the experience better. Thankfully this phone is customizable. That’s all I have to say! ... show more

  • Sturdy but There are Better Options on the Market
Bought this in the hopes of converting to a dumb phone that could still use Spotify, Libby, and navigating apps. To clear up why this phone is labelled CAT but sold as a Unifone, from what I understand, the phone was originally manufactured by CAT (yes, the construction equipment manufacturers), but then rights were sold to another company. This product is legitimate, despite appearing off brand at first glance. Pros: - Very sturdy. Possibly indestructible. Advertised as waterproof but I didn't get the chance or the accident to test this. - Uses Android system, meaning you can theoretically download most apps through Google Play. (I say theoretically for a reason.) - Screen is so small you will be highly discouraged from using social media apps; in fact I think most would be unusable on this phone, which was one of my goals. - Has bluetooth connectivity, meaning you can connect your headphones and listen to Spotify or an audiobook. Cons: - Because this phone utilizes an older version of Android OS, there are some minor security concerns. This won't be an issue for most people, but I wouldn't use this phone if your job or private life involves any confidential information, i.e. patient information, cybersecurity, etc. - Also because of the old OS, many apps that might have worked with this phone on release are no longer compatible, because the OS is no longer supported. I was able to use Spotify and Libby, but you will not be able to download Uber, for exmaple. - Probably the biggest con for me was that this phone pretends to be a flip phone. The reality is that it's a tiny touch screen phone. The D pad and T9 typing are not functional. You will have to download an app to use these basic features, and from what I could find, these apps are passion projects with no promise of continuing to remain functional in the future (as an example, the app I found reccomended most often online is already non functional, and I had to find an app created more recently.) Even then, the app will not be cross compatible with all other apps, i.e. Libby. I spent so much time squinting and trying to touch a tiny touch screen keyboard, that eventually I rage quit and decided to send the whole phone back. - Messaging is a hybrid that just doesn't work how you might hope. Because this phone is undecided if it's a smart phone or a dumb phone, messages will be recieved in a smart phone format, however, again, unless you have a special app, replying will be a pain in the ass because you'll have to use a tiny touchscreen keyboard. Never figured out if emojis were possible. Who would I reccomend this phone for? Probably someone with a physical job, i.e. construction, who only wants a flip phone for the phone calls and maybe Spotify, and nothing else, not even texting, for whom the sturdiness of the phone is important. Even then, I think there are other dumb phones on the market that will give you better functionality at a better price point. ... show more

  • Wanted to like it but have to ditch it.
Wouldn't work on 4G in New Zealand (My fault there I guess) You have to go into developer mode to get apps to fit the screen and stop overlapping. I get a double click prob that basically makes the physical keypad impossible to use, and the onscreen one is too small. I change settings that say they have saved but don't activate , like open and close the flip top to answer and cancel calls and a few other probs. I wanted to like this phone, and I sould struggle on with it if not for the 4G not working in my country. Have to ditch it. ... show more

  • A perfect balance between dumbphone/smartphone
This review is from someone who is a tech savvy person. I've used pretty much any consumer electronic under the sun and can build a computer with my eyes closed, so take this with however much or little salt as you want. I consider myself a tech enthusiast, but have a love/hate relationship with it. Specifically with smartphones because they have become a plague on society, turning peoples' brains and attention spans into mush - designed to draw you in and steal your time from living outside of your dang screen. I was born in 93 so I'm not old (yet), and I am so sick of seeing people of all generations who can't sit at a dinner table or in a movie theater without pulling out their smartphones that I just don't even want to own one anymore. I am not someone who is addicted to their phone to begin with - I really only use it for utility purposes - but knew I still needed to be able to do mobile banking and also use my home security apps, and maybe GPS sometimes. I've looked at a bunch of old school flip style phones but none of them really seemed to have the capabilities I needed. Then I came across this - saw that it had a touchscreen, ran android, and the ability to remove most of the bloatware that comes on devices. I bought it, charged it, and tested it for one day, and by the end of the day decided this was the perfect balance of a smartphone and dumbphone. It has live GPS positioning like your smart phone instead of the "step by step" written instructions that other flip phones have, I was able to use my Chase banking app to deposit a check and transfer funds between accounts, was able to log into the Ring app to check my house alarm status, and was able to use my Kasa security app to check the live camera feed from my home. Technically you could probably download a lot of other apps from the android store, but the old school design and small screen of this phone would definitely discourage a lot of people. The only downsides I've encountered is that because this is a flip phone, it doesn't have a powerful processor in it...meaning that apps that take your smartphone a second or two to open might take this phone up to 10 seconds to open. Installing apps from the app store can also take a bit (one of the 3 apps I mentioned took up to 5 minutes to download over a solid wifi connection). The other issue I've come across is that because the screen is small, sometimes the digital keyboard will take up half the screen and make it difficult to see what you're looking at. Thankfully you can use the # key of the keypad to cycle between the digital keyboard and the old style numerical keyboard, which will give you full view of your screen back, and then you can scroll as needed, then switch back to the digital keyboard if you want. The battery life seems about on par with the Pixel 8a smartphone I switched from so far. I charged it up yesterday morning, and was on it quite a bit while I tinkered with it, set up my settings, downloaded apps, and switched my service over to it. As of now, 24 hours later, it still has 46% charge left, which with my type of usage I'm sure will probably last today and most of tomorrow. So if you are a utilitarian person like me, I expect a full charge with minimal usage could average 3-4 days of battery life. UPDATE: Alrighty, a few days later, I think I've got the phone fully customized and tailored to me. Everything I don't need is disabled and battery saver is on. After a full charge and minimal usage (1 or 2 phone calls, several texts), it's lost about 20% in about 30 hours....so my guess of 3-4 days was accurate. ... show more

  • Great flip phone- durable, high quality, and easy to use!
I have been super happy and excited about this phone. I have gone through many different flip phones and have been very dissapointed by the quality and performance. When I got this phone I did not have such high hopes, however I am really enjoying using it and don't have any complaints! First of all, the phone is super durable and has not gotten any damage from falling on the floor or by being dropped. The screen size is smaller than a regular iPhone but still large enough that you can read text messages without squinting. The operating system is the same as regular android phones which makes it easy to navigate. I have service though RedPocket mobile (T-mobile) and have not had any issues with connectivity. One con is that in order for people to hear you clearly through the phone you need to have it positioned in a specific way near your ear or else the person on the other part of the line can't hear you. The speakerphone is great and the phone works well with apple airpods as well. The phone holds charge well and can last a day to a day and a half without being charged. Overall, this was a great buy and I highly recommend to anyone who wants a reliable and durable flip phone. ... show more
