Description

Only Castrol GTX magnetic is uniquely formulated to provide instant protection from the moment you start. Did you know testing confirms that up to 75% of engine wear occurs during the first 20 minutes of warm up? When your engine stops, oil drains off critical engine parts, but the intelligent molecules in Castrol GTX MAGNATEC don’t – they form an extra layer of protection during warm up, when your engine needs it most, dramatically reducing engine wear and keeping critical parts up to 4X smoother. As tested in the industry Sequence IVA wear test.

  • I’ve always used Castrol
I’ve used Castrol products for many years with no problems. I think it’s one of the best oils you can buy.

  • Doesn't cause problems in Hemi engines
I'm using this through a "purple" filter in my 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi without issue. Whomever wow that they experienced litter issues when using this oil in their hemi was likely an engine hypochondriac because this won't cause your help MDS lifters to suddenly start clattering. Truth is, Castrol simply didn't submit this oil (or the requisite fees) to Chrysler to obtain licensing rights to carry the "meets xxxx standards" but it will not harm your engine to use this. I'm quite satisfied, and in fact I've been experiencing better mileage then I ever have at this particular point in the truck, averaging about 18mpg whereas 17 was the norm. Get a good synthetic media filter such as they purple one and have at it. ... show more

  • Engine is running happy. 5W-20
The media could not be loaded. My car oil cap and manual states 5W-20, but it can also take 5W-30. For those wondering, the W stands for Winter. The lower the number, it is generally better fuel efficiency because the oil is thinner. So in the case of 5W-20 or 5W-30, the 5W, the first number represents the thickness of the oil at low temperatures, and the second number represents the thickness of the oil for high temperature. Definitely check your vehicle's owner's manual to see what oil it takes/check your oil cap. Also car salesmen saying once you go full synthetic, you can't go back is not true. I'm using this with Bosch Premium Oil Filter 3312. My car is running much nicer. Also, you'll want to use a funnel to pour it in. ... show more

  • t's keeping my valves and tappets all lubricated
My car would chatter until it got warm, now it doesn't chatter at all. This oil is great. It's keeping my valves and tappets all lubricated and not drying out overnight. Update: Dec 1, 2015. I couldn't change the oil this time around because my arm is in a hard cast making it painful and impossible to get under and undo the drain plug etc. So I took it to our local tire dealer "Mavis Discount Tires" and asked for their equivalent or better oil to replace the Magnatec. Their semi-synthetic 'similar' blend was the Agip brand. The next cold (40) morning the valves were chattering like a group of old ladies in a Bingo Hall. It stopped chattering after 15 mins when the engine and oil warmed up to the operating temperature. But once my arm is recovered and out of this hard cast I will be buying and installing my own Magnatec in all of our cars again. Just not hearing all that noise assures me that the engine head isn't dry of oil and the Magnatec is doing what it promises - attaching to the parts at the molecular level to keep them friction free until the rest of the oil gets up there. Chemistry is truly amazing. ... show more

  • Good price for synthetic
It's synthetic oil ..So far so good .About 2000 miles Tiny lifter click on initial cold start, only a few seconds. Didn't click with Valvoline Full Synthetic. 2012 2.0 litter Hyundai Elantra Touring with 85000 miles. Update 9-26-18 , 7000 miles driven, lifter click on cold start up went away. Just ordered again for upcoming change before winter..Will have around 10,000 miles at change. With Hyundai filter. Update 4-17-19 , Changed at about 15,000 miles after adding around 2 quarts during that time. 99% 65mph hwy. cruising. Now have went 2500 miles and oil looks like new down about 1/4 quart. Will be changing more often from now on because it increased gas mileage by about 2-5 mpg with cleaner oil. Will most likely go to about 8000-9000 from now on. Car now has 125,000 miles, have been using Castrol GTX Magnatec 5w-20 since 85,000. Flashlight in oil fill hole everything is nice and shinny ,looks good . ... show more

  • Overall great product
Would highly recommend for anyone who has a hard working vehicle. I use this in my '12 Mustang GT, I use it in my son's 200k mile Buick beater, and when I had my 04 Honda Odyssey and 05 Honda Civic, I used this in them as well. A very good, hard working all around engine oil. We recently traded off the 2 Hondas for one brand new Odyssey. I haven't looked to see if Castrol offers the Magnatec line in 0W20 yet. If they do, there is a good chance I will be using the oil in that vehicle. If they don't, I will be using Amsoil. What I like most about the oil is that it gets the lubrication to the top as quick as possible. Overhead cam engines need the lubrication immediately, especially in the enviroment I live in. Very hot steamy summers and very cold dry winters. ... show more

  • Castrol Quality
My F-150 5.0 Coyote engine, was developing a cam chain rattle after cold startup. I switched from Mobil 1 to Castrol GTX. The rattle is gone so far. I also Noticed a bump up in gas mileage on a recent road trip. I'll be using this oil in both of my vehicles from now on.
