  • Simple but great
Color: Black
Piano sounds fantastic and comes with enough features that moves it a little beyond just an electric piano. Assembly was easy, however you may need a second person to help towards the end as the product is indeed heavy. It plays absolutely wonderfully, it sounds wonderful, and comes with a handful of piano fonts that lets you vary it up. It's sturdy and does not feel cheap. Just an all around great electric piano. ... show more

  • Excellent value and investment.
Color: Black
I have been playing piano since I was 8 years old. In 2005 I was in a wreck and became wheelchair bound and unable to play anymore. Since then, I have missed the experience of playing so much. I haven't played at all in all these years. My husband surprised me with this Casio Px 870 and it is wonderful. I am having to learn all over again and am now in my sixties. But, I am enjoying every moment of this experience. The sound is wonderful and the feel of the keys is so much like a regular piano; I can barely tell a difference. I am so delighted with this instrument and to have playing music back in my life! ... show more

  • The quality of the actual piano keyboard seems great. The keys look
Color: Black
This is my first piano and I have no experience playing. Thus I do not have anything to compare it to. I choose the Casio PX870 because I wanted my money to go towards quality of the core piano functionality and not towards bells and whistles. The quality of the actual piano keyboard seems great. The keys look, feel, and play great. While I do not pretend to have a great ear I feel like the tonal quality is very good. The quality of the cabinet/stand is just OK. It is flat pack laminated fiber board. Of course I expected this and I was not surprised. It is not unpleasant to look at and I do not mind it in my living room. The plastic caps provided to cover the recessed screws and bolts where absolute garbage though. Very thin plastic that was warped and torn and did not fit. Of course this is a trivial detail that can be fixed for probably $1-2 at a hardware store. Just a bit annoying. The foot pedal bar is just a bit raised off the floor and thus causes a noise as it bends down and hits the hardwood floor when I apply pedal pressure. This probably would not be a problem with a carpet. This may be uneven floors in a old home but the actual piano is stable so I suspect its not the floors. It is easily addressed by a thin shim under the pedals. The USB port will not charge my old 4th gen iPad. This ipad is around 5 years old now and I had intended on keeping it on the music stand as a dedicated device for the piano. It would have been nice to be able to leave it plugged into the piano and not have to worry about battery charge. I thought this meant the USB port was not providing power of any sort but this is not true. It can power my iPhone just fine. I realize the primary purpose of this port is a USB thumb drive to record to. The USB ports are annoying to get to. It would have been nice to have them more accessible. All in all I am very pleased with the purchase. My complaints here are mostly nit picking mixed with a bit of snobbishness. The piano itself is great and thats the most important part. ... show more

  • Casio does not disappoint
Color: Black
The sound quality is equal to that of the $4,500 Yamaha pianos I've played. It really sounds and feels like a real piano. This is true for the piano sound and the harpsichord. The strings setting is an amazing bonus.bPerfect piano for an intermediate player, that will leave you lacking nothing. Also amazing easy to assemble and I love how compact it is. ... show more

  • Small pedals
Color: Brown
Pedals not as long or as widely spaced as acoustic piano, which is somewhat inconvenient. (Made for Japanese feet?)

  • Quality digital piano great for the minimalist-pianist.
Color: White
My first impression: keys were heavier than I expected for a digital; Second: it was the perfect size for my small space! Lastly... it created a sound very close to my early childhood recollection of an actual piano! I am very impressed with the overall quality along with its reasonable mid-range price, including shipment to Maui. ... show more

  • absolute garbage
Color: Black
absolute piece of garbage. I bounght the used one for 900 dollars through this seller. They claimed that the condition is good. Wasted a day to build because a lot of the holes don’t align well. And eventually when it’s done, i found out that the piano lid won’t open. And finally when i managed to open the lid, i found out that the piano actually doesn’t work at all! ... show more

  • The working part of the piano is great
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. I am no professional pianist, but I am a classically trained musician with some experience on all sorts of pianos. The feel of this piano is by far the closest thing to a real grand piano I have ever played on, and the sound is decent. However, the piano is HEAVY and requires at least two people to move around and assemble. The one I got appears to have broken keys in the lower register (see video), and I did not find out until after having spent an hour assembling it, because the instruction says to keep the tape on the lid intact until piano is assembled to avoid accidentally opening or closing the lid. Now I don’t know what to do with it. It would require an inordinate amount of effort to disassemble it and stuff it back into the package to ship it back, and the seller, Adorama in this case, is not responding to my message with any resolutions. Seems like Casio’s quality control really needs some work. ... show more
