  • Perfect First Piano - but only 61 keys to keep it portable.
Style: Keyboard Only
I bought this to learn to play piano on a 2022 new years resolution and juuuust in case I don't stick with it, I got this casiotone. I use it with Piano Marvel online to learn to play and the midi usb connection works well for online learning. I'm still playing a year later and I decided to play everyday. I'm so glad I can take this with me on vacation to keep my daily streak intact. Because of the online learning ability and carry with you piano qualities, I think this is the perfect paino for jamming anywhere. The sound is awesome - like a real piano. The other instruments are an added bonus! Let's talk 61 keys: This keyboard will transpose up and down for the missing keys or allow to play in a different key. However the midi reports the key pressed not the sound played. So when I want to learn a piece using the full keyboard online it doesn't work in the software. With this being the only drawback found so far, this keyboard is fantastic. 61 keys is what makes easy to carry with the handle! ... show more

  • 61 keys are enough
Style: Premium Pack
With headphones on, my wife does not have to listen to me practice(I am a 2nd level beginner). The keys sound good and the piano and stand are comfortable to play. Definitely worth the money.

  • Minor inconveniences
Style: Premium Pack
Great piano for beginners. The sound quality is not like a regular piano, but that's to be expected. My biggest complaint is that there are 400(!) different sound profiles, but they can only be selected by rotating a knob and scanning through the list from 1 to 400, or backwards from 400 to 1. Unless you memorized the number for each sound you like, good luck finding it again. Certainly not convenient. ... show more

  • 1/2 step above a toy
Style: Keyboard Only
So I just don't feel like I can rate this above a 3, despite trying to be realistic with what you can get for under $200. My background is professional musician so maybe my ear is a little too unforgiving, but I felt like this keyboard was unusable out of the box. And this puts me in the minority compared to all the 5-star reviews of this being a great little machine. I really didn't have crazy-high expectations for this price point, was just looking for something to save me from lugging my good keyboard from downstairs every week when I teach lessons. But here's the deal: the speakers stink. Like they sound like the same speakers you would find on, I dunno, maybe a walkie talkie? It sounds like a toy, like the moment I played the first note I felt like I had been bamboozled. If this was half the price it is currently selling for, I would give it 5 stars without hesitation, but it's really not a very good sounding keyboard as-is. I had to immediately plug it into a speaker to avoid running out of the house and chasing down the Amazon delivery guy, but even then it took some convincing to not pack it right back up. As it is, I am keeping the box for at least a few more days. Let me go a little deeper (to maybe save someone some pain/time or convince someone else that these concerns are trivial for their purposes). If a keyboard cannot faithfully reproduce the sounds that it came equipped with, that is a problem. I don't even need to look up how much power the speakers have, it doesn't matter - they just don't sound good. As I worked my way through a few sounds to try to see if I just started with a bad piano sound, I reached a split keyboard setting that does bass on the bottom (upright bass) with piano up top. You could not even distinguish the tone of 50% or more of the bass notes since the speakers can't do anything with that frequency. Not so much an issue with the actual tones - I could hear the bass perfectly fine when hooked up to an amp that could handle it - but what's the use in even having certain tones if they can't be heard? I would be really embarrassed to teach a lesson from this keyboard as it is, and though I know I can minimally beef it up with a speaker and have an okay sound, this kills the whole "take it anywhere" aspect of the keyboard. I don't want to have to carry around a speaker or hook it up to a computer to get better sounds from it. I didn't expect this at this price range (and I know how much "good" keyboards cost). It's great for beginners who don't care about the sound and just want a tinny (and tiny) piano as they learn how to read music, but I feel like it is overpriced for that if that's all you want to do with it. I think I may keep it because it really fits my biggest requirement of being able to hide it under the couch in the room, but I don't think it's worth it. And you can't read the display without a good light since it's not backlit. But on the positive side, the keys have a nice feel to them. ... show more

  • I don't regret my purchase
Style: Keyboard Only
I didn't know I would love the keyboard and I bought an inexpensive one just to see if I would. I think I bought the right one! It's beginner friendly and I am having the time of my life learning how to play music on it. If you're looking for an inexpensive keyboard to try out and see if you like it then this one is for you. The keys respond well, if you touch lightly, it will play lightly, if you press down hard then it will play hard. It's lightweight, I am fairly small and I feel like I can throw it across the room if I wanted to, I wouldn't cause I love it so much though. WARNING DO NOT THROW YOUR KEYBOARD ACROSS THE ROOM JUST BECAUSE IT'S LIGHTWEIGHT! I really don't care about the other features. they are fun to play around with when you're bored, but if you're serious about the sound effects and the different piano sounds then you might want to get a different keyboard because they seem very limited in what they can do. You'll need a USB mini port to hook up to any digital devices if you want to connect to a music media program or app. (That can be a chore if you have apple products.) Overall, it's a keeper. If you're on the fence about trying to find your first keyboard, then this is the one you should go with. Listen to me, I am too a beginner and I love this keyboard, I've learned a lot in the past few months because I enjoy this functional keyboard. ... show more
