This piano was the next best thing to owning a classic piano. It looks great, doesn't take up much space, was fairly easy for my husband to assemble (had a bit of trouble getting the peddles to work, but putting on reading glasses and following the tiny printed directions, proved to be a winning combination). I'm still learning all the features as we are still moving and renovating, but I have enjoyed going to my "own house" to play my "own piano," a 50 year-old dream of mine!

This has been a wonderful first piano purchase for our family. We wanted to purchase a grand piano, but didn't have the space so it's been super nice having it be a heavy weight keyboard and sounds like a piano! It's been great! And works with some of the online apps very well. highly recommend.

Update two years later: I bought this piano in 2021. After owning it for a little over two years, I'm still extremely happy with it. However, I'm knocking a star off for the pedals. They're not actually any sort of solid metal. Instead, they have a thin layer of metallic finish that rubs off over time. With light-to-moderate use over the past two years (and always wearing socks while playing the piano), the gold finish on my sustain pedal has worn off on the areas where my foot makes contact with it most frequently, revealing black plastic beneath the very, very thin layer of shiny gold finish. The piano still functions perfectly fine. It's just disappointing that, even with immaculate care and only moderate use, the finish starts to wear off within two years. --- This beautiful piano is a moderately large improvement on Casio's flagship PX-870. Like the PX-870, the AP-470 features stellar sound quality and key action. Many online reviews suggest that the PX-870 and AP-470 share the exact same internal mechanics and sound chips. This piano sounds absolutely beautiful, and has realistically weighted keys and pedals! Beyond the PX-870, this piano (the AP-470) features an additional grand piano tone (for a total of two main grand piano tones) and an extremely elegant and beautiful furniture cabinet that looks (IMO) vastly superior to the PX-870. I really liked that all parts of the piano arrived in pristine condition (e.g., there were no gashes, imperfections, or blemishes on any part). I was able to assemble to piano on my own, but the final step (of lifting the piano unit itself onto the assembled stand) was doable for me but will likely require two people for many individuals. There's essentially nothing to complain about with this piano. It looks stellar (almost like a real upright piano). The key and pedal action are realistic and very much so emulate the experience of playing a real grand piano. The sound quality is incredible. The adjustable bench looks a little weird (with its seat extending well above its frame) but is super comfortable. There are only two real extreme nitpick complaints. First, the music-holder ledge is a little small, which necessitates using music clips for large music books. Second, many of the advanced features (e.g., setting a "hall emulator" [which adds reverb] require the user manual, as they require pressing the "Function" button and a certain unlabeled key at the same time to activate [and thus you have to use the user manual to look up which key to press]). Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. It provides a realistic piano-playing experience (like the PX-870) with a far more beautiful cabinet at an affordable price (for a piano of this quality).
