  • Great keyboard
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
I bought this for my daughter, who never played piano before. It has so many features and a training mode where the keys light up and you follow along and even get a score afterward of how well you did. She's taught herself about 15 songs so far (4 months) and all without a teacher. The sound quality is very good and the keyboard is super responsive. I'm so glad I bought this one and not the other brand that comes with a stand and chair. I saw a video review and it's garbage. ... show more

  • Awesome Beginners keyboard
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
I purchased this keyboard for my daughter for Christmas. She was so excited to open it up. In my opinion the sound quality is great. The keyboard is pretty much Plug in and play. The best feature of this keyboard it's a fact that it is touch sensitive, And the keys light up! At the moment my daughter is self teaching with the Songs programmed on the keyboard, however, she will be getting lessons soon. I am sure that this keyboard will be able to carry her through her beginning journey In playing the piano. This is an awesome investment. ... show more

  • Casio is the way to go! Perfect for me and my kids!
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
Omg! Best keyboard ever! I got it for my kids but I'm playing more than they do. Clear and crisp sound, weighted keys.. love it! My kids love the music creation mode, which is a lot of fun! Competitor are trying to sweaten the deal with adding stands, seats, etc, but some of their sound quality is very poor. (I had to return one) Casio is the way to go. I couldn't be happier. One feature I wish it had was recording. And possibly over multiple tracks. If you have an ipad, garageband does the trick though. ... show more

  • A great tool to help jump start learning piano.
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
I write a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews, but only because I don't get excited about poorly made stuff. This Casio LK-S250 keyboard is an older design, with a micro USB connector, but it is plug and play. By using adapters I have successfully connected it to my Win 11 PC and my Android tablet, sending notes back and forth and playing MIDI files on the keyboard. It is a lighted keyboard, but so far only Synthesia and Casio's free software seem to light them, and the keyboard only supports 4 lit at once, playing a fifth note unlights the earliest key pressed. Not much of an issue with arpeggios, but two handed work quickly passes the limit. This and the micro USB connector are my only real peeves. The case has a handle molded into it, while I don't use it myself it would be a boon for gigs or busking. When on a keyboard stand the keyboard comes with a pretty strong sheet music holder that fits into the handle opening. It has a wider than usual lower edge, easily holding a spiral bound book, a tablet or lots of sheet music. I am still at the lower edge of intermediate keyboard skills, and this is a great keyboard to learn on. It has velocity sensitive keys, standard size bit not weighted like the more expensive keyboards. Hopefully I will eventually get my skills up to where that would make a difference. For the most part, a 61 key keyboard is more than adequate for learning. The keyboard will shift those keys up or down several octaves and many semitones. The latter is useful to play along with songs like California Dreaming, which the guitar players used a capo to play in a simple key, but up 4 semitones. There are some built in songs that you can use in lessons where the next note doesn't sound until you press the right key. I don't use that much because I can hear my boo boos, but it will help raw beginners and children to learn some simple tunes that other people will recognize, a morale booster. The case has sleek lines, only using a few buttons and a wheel with an LCD screen to change parameters and voices to your needs, and allows you to (optionally) save that and have it recalled on power on. It runs on batteries or from a supplied power adapter, has a sustain pedal input that can be optioned for expression or volume, useful on organ instruments. Their built in Drawbar Organ sounds (2 of them) sound pretty close to a Hammond organ, so popular on older music. That sums up all I need to say, the rest would be reciting operations that are well documented in a free PDF from Casio's support site. ... show more

  • Great small keyboard.
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
It's small enough to hold on your lap if you're just lounging around on the sofa. Works well with headphones if you're planning on practicing scales in mixed company. Love the lighted keys. Haven't tried learning the songs that come pre-installed yet, but the leading lights seem fun. The touch and sustain are good as well. I like playing it. ... show more

  • Worth a buy! Great for beginners!
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
Great beginner keyboard for the price! Tons of great voices and accompaniments. Touch sensitive keys are a major bonus, and the lighted key system works great! It can even be turned off if you not into that sort of thing, but I've found them to be very helpful for learning proper hand/finger placement. There is another review that gives this product only 3 stars because of "hard to press keys'. I am truly dumbfounded by this person's review because the keys are VERY easy to press, and are even touch sensitive as previously stated. The person who wrote that bad review either got extremely unlucky with a defective unit or they are just flat out lying. My guess is the latter. Overall this keyboard guests a 4.5 out of 5, but I'm rounding up to 5 to take some of the sting off the 3 star review from someone who is being dishonest. This keyboard is definitely worth a buy! ... show more

  • Such a great beginner piano
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
Love this thing! I've always wanted to learn piano but I don't really have the time (or funding) for lessons. This thing is great because it has a lesson feature built right in! The keys light up to show you where to place your fingers and you can start slow by setting it to only one hand at the beginning. It's also super lightweight so you can take this thing anywhere. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn the piano. ... show more

  • An Excellent Choice for Fun and Learning An Excellent Choice for Fun and Learning
Style: Keyboard Only Pattern: Keyboard
Have used Casio LK-S250 Keyboard daily for 18 months. 100 percent reliable and sounds very good. Decided to get my own Z configuration stand from Liquid Stands to provide better leg room and stability. Paired keyboard with Simply Piano app initially as an Amazon trial, installed to iPad using keyboard’s MIDI output through an adapter so Simply Piano will recognize all notes. Simply Piano music passes to my sub-woofer sound system, however the Casio’s keyboard speakers handle my piano accompaniments. Selected 30 favorite Casio tones from hundreds. Really appreciate Casio’s selection of preferences such as Reverb and Touch Sensitivity which can be fine tuned. As others have said, wish LCD screen were illuminated however I do have a lamp. ... show more
